Don’t look now but the Philadelphia 76ers have won four of their last five games, and the younger guys are stepping up big time.
Thaddeus Young dropped a season-high 26 points Tuesday night during a 117-97 win over the new looked Cleveland Cavaliers. Young (11 of 12 from the field) scored 17 points in the first have and finished the game with 11 rebounds.
Jrue Holiday and Jodie Meeks also performed well scoring 16 points apiece. Meeks knocked down four shots from behind the arc, and Holiday added seven assist, providing a tiny bit of hope for the suddenly red hot 76ers.
Since the emergence of the younger guys, the Sixers have played with much more energy every night and could possibly be taking a turn in the right direction. Their once dreadful 3-13 record now looks slightly better at 7-14 and appears to have given the team a much needed boost.
“As coach always says, go out there and have fun. Play aggressive, but have fun. I think that’s what I’ve been doing,” said Young. “The guys are coming together, and we’re bringing everyone together. Teamwork and hard work – we’re showing it.”
The Sixers next test will come Thursday night on national television when the veteran filled Boston Celtics come to town. The match up will shine a little light on whether the recent success was a product of a semi-soft schedule, or if the team finally has learned how to win games.

Stay with these young players and them play a run and gun , helter-skelter type of style for at least they are more exciting to watch and that’s this teams best asset is to get out on the open floor and go.
When they play that slow down,half-court style, they start standing around and become a jump-shooting team which is not their strength as a club plus it’s very boring to watch..
Play a Pauyl Westhead style if you guys remember him from the Philly area, Loyola Marymount and then the Lakers, get shot off every 8-10 seconds and run the other team into the ground..
