It’s closing in on game time for the Eagles and the Cowboys. We’ll get a good look at Kevin Kolb and many of the team’s backups.
Andy Reid is taking no chances with the star players who carry the offense. There are only a couple of key skill players, who are playing today. Jeremy Maclin will get the chance to reach a 1000 receiving yards on the season and starting tight Brent Celek will be active.
The other bit name skill players will sit and watch this one. Here are the names on the inactive list for the Eagles: LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson, Trent Cole, Trevor Laws, Stewart Bradley, Asante Samuel and Michael Vick.
Even though this one doesn’t mean much in the standing, we still want to beat the Dallas Cowboys. Enjoy the game. I’ll be commenting and chatting with you during the game.
Just throwing it out there… A good Saints team lost at home today with a 2:1 pass-run ratio. Balance the playcalling Andy! Speaking of the loss. I hope the bears and Redskins win today. I would much rather play the Bucs over the Packers or Giants.
Great to see Andy sit as manay as possible to rest up. I’m really interested in seeing what Kolb can do and hope the O line can give him some time to operate. Hoping for a great outting for Cooper as well. If so, many Andy will get home more shots while they’re in the red sone next week.
mimitaro – Couldn’t agree more!
lets see how kolb and mcdermotts defense do today.
im getting close to calling for jauron to be the d.c.
he is a better coordinator than head coach and his bills were a stout upper end defense…the bills
he is more conservative, but mcdermott isnt dialing up the pressure this season anyways
im glad dmitri patterson got that tackle for a loss…
ive liked him from day 1 and continue to believe he is our 2nd best cb
some players ill be watching are lindley, coleman, and chaney
Lindley is the next player McDermitt has no clue about. Lindley is clearly the 2nd best cover corner behind Samuel on this team.
Wow its amazing that we know how to call running plays when Kolb, Garcia or Feely play. Amazing. lol
And so we have 3 straight incomplete passes
dag – You know we’ve been seeing a more balancesd offense from Reid for years as long as the starter isn’t under center. SOSDD.
or that its pouring rain with no desean or lesean or celek
in a meaningless game that the coaches want over as quickly as possibly
Celek is playing
nice defensive stop..
if you call standing on the sideline with a toque on while the offence is on the field…then ya, I guess he is playing
i think we will win vs the giants or packers…but id rather play the buccs
giants are a mess as usual with a mistake at qb, but they are always tough esp. defensively
gb i think is lacking weapons on offense, with a stout defense, but we can outscore anybody
but on that note…we arent very good against mobile qbs, most teams have trouble with that matchup
what do u guys think?
Rain means shit to this coaching staff. They throw and throw. It is criminal that they made McNabb and Vick throw so much and are balanced for all others.
Giants were considered down and out earlier this year with Coughling on the hot seat and then came back a few weeks later to be considered the best team in the NFC mid season. I hope they dont hit that form again after being considered down and out. And the packers are always scary on offense, Aaron Rodgers made the Giants defense look like little girls when we struggled to move the ball on them for 3.5 quarters.
Defense is better this week than its been it weeks.
hmmm…q
uick throw vs a blitz
how many times have they run that friggin stupid wildcat to Hall in the red zone and it never gains more than a yard or two. I hate the play!
Oh no, we don’t need to get anybody hurt. Good route and good catch. Good conversion on third down.
Kolb earned every bit of that one.
This is most important game of the year. Kolb plays well and possibly he gets us a # 1 pick in the off season. Or maybe a 2nd and 3rd.
or……
Gcobb, for those of us who can’t see this game, help us out and get some footage to show later, thanks.
I don’t think anybody is going to give us a 1st pick off of the way he plays now. Maybe they’ll do it because of the way he played against the Falcons. Great job by Kolb of avoiding the sack and making that TD throw.
hahahahahah vin ur back
ugh
he vicked it
yes play good kolby maybe we get a 3rd rounder stop fumbling though
stocked just dropped to 4th dam
It’s fitting that Kolb would be stripped by Spencer. They’ll always be tied together because of that Eagles-Cowboys trade.
Very Impressed. Usually in preseason or even in blow outs the Eagles backups are incompetent. Atleast they look somewhat like a NFL team.
Good to see that Gaither hasn’t been afraid to attack or tackle today.
GCobb….why wouldn’t Vick be on the sidelines? Desean is there…so are the other deactivated players and all the others who dressed but didn;t play Celek, Maclin (3 snaps) are all there….
who is 68 playing left tackle? Nice effort Austin Howard.
I don’t know but who cares where Vick is sitting and watching the game . Maybe he’s in the locker room getting some treatment. The most important thing he needs to do is get healthy.
You’re trying to start the silly stuff with Vick which they used to do with McNabb. Where he is watching the game won’t have anything to do with how they play next week.
Amazing that Ware didn’t rip the ball out of Kolb’s arms on that sack
Gary – gotta agree that wherever Vick is doesn’t mean a thing and if it’s time getting tratment, even better!
Vick should go to Banner and name his price and if Banner even hints he is disturbed Vick should tell him good luck with Kolb. The Eagles are so lucky that Vick is here. This would of been a 4-12 team with Kolb. What a wasted 1st(2nd) round pick. 3 yards and a cloud of dust. I would sit Kolb so his stock stops dropping.
He almost popped his shoulder out with the way he pounded him on the ground. They’re going to have to put four people on Ware.
Yeah Dag, Kolb’s had so much time with the 1st team offense this season it’s easy to tell that isn’t it? How can you possibly have seen enough to come to that conclusion? Yeah, he’s not Brady but he’s a better than some NFL starters this season and I’d be happy to take Kolb over McNabb given the way 5 played this season.
daggolden….Chad Hall and Avant are the Wrs… Harbour is the TE, Harrison is the RB and they started one ‘starting’ OL…the only starter who played more than one series is Owen Schmidt.
Catch the football kid. You’ve got to catch the football, first.
that’s the 3rd time there have been 2wrs within a few steps of each other
Kolb stinks. I dont care who the WR are. He bounces it to wide open recievers. He stinks. Thats why he is a backup. Kolb has more protection today than Vick has had in the last month. Are you kidding me. your defending Kolb. Wow I wonder what this is about hmmmm.
Oops, the cornerback is supposed to be outside in the zone, but he comes inside if there’s not a receiver outside. Kevin needs to look him off before throwing that ball.
I hope Kolb is doing good with starters out and Cowboys playing tough cause their jobs are on the line.
Kolb played with starters against Tenn he SUCKED. Kolb played with starters against Redskins. HE SUCKED. He SUCKS.
Dag – You’re a major chump for implying this is about anything but the game and players. Maybe you don’t know it but football, unlike fantads football, is about how they play, good & bad, who plays, the conditions, making plays etc. It’s not about stats and the result of the play. Stick your nose back in stats cause you surely can’t look at players and games objectively.
