If you thought it was a bad idea for Michael Vick to host a Super Bowl party, you’re not alone. Former Super Bowl head coach for the Indianapolis Colts Tony Dungy who has been a mentor to Vick, said earlier today on Dan Patrick’s radio show that Michael Vick won’t be hosting or attending any Super Bowl parties.
“He’s not,” Dungy said on the Dan Patrick Show when he asked about why Vick was hosting a Super Bowl party. “He is not going to be attending. I don’t know where it started or what, but he’s not going to be there…. I think he understands it’s something that’s just not worth it to him.
No way in the world Vick should go to a party that will risk the nearly $20 million dollar salary which Vick will make next year if the Eagles slap the franchise tag on him.
All that would need to happen would be for someone to sneak into the party and start a fight. Everything would be blamed on him because his name was attached to the affair. It’s definitely not worth it to Vick. I hope he figured this out on his own. If he didn’t

way too much focus on other peoples actions and not Vick himself….This is not a scenario in which he owns a house and is fighting dogs on the property in which he owns…We are talking about a public event, (the door is open to the public, strangers) how can a man be held responsible for something that occurs between other grown invidividuals?
dont get me wrong I understand the concern, but as long as the man party’s smart and keeps himself out of the nonsense, I have no problem with him enjoying himself!

I would put Vick on a suicidal watch..He won’t last emotionally playing in the NFL and especially in
Philly with the crazy local media… I think he’s done as a player and shot his wad for that 1 special month from Mid-October to Late-November when he was on top of the world…

Vick will be even better next season…you guys quickly forget that the man hadn’t started a game at QB in 3 years prior to this season. This means he has only started, what 11 games over the past 3 seasons….Vick and the Eagles will be better next season! Full training camp working with the starters, game experienced gained from playing this season…Vick has showned that he is accountable for his mistakes (on and off the field) and is focused on becoming a complete QB, the sky is the limit for our QB!
and remember the pounding Vick took after only after playing 4-5 straight weeks of Football again..
Wait to next year.. He’ll miss at least 3-4 games over the course of the Season ..

Wow. To the posters who didn’t think it was an absolute God awful idea for Vick to host a party at this year’s Super Bowl, get a freaking clue, fellas. When you have a guy on probation whose last public party resulted in his former co-defendant getting SHOT, it’s obvious that Vick shouldn’t even think about putting himself in a similar situation for any reason. Nothing good can come of Vick hosting a party. All it would take is some drunk knucklehead starting a fight and Vick’s name would be out there under a negative light again. Whether he had anything to do with it or not. The fact that SWAT guys, NFL security, former cops or whoever else was scheduled to work security leads me to think that Vick was planning on attending but all the negative publicity changed his mind. This in turn suggests that maybe Vick doesn’t truly understand what’s at stake here and that’s borderline unbelievable to me.
