Dallas Mayor Unhappy Vick Was Given Key To The City

I thought it was quite a surprise when Eagles quarterback was given the key to the city of Dallas last week.  First of all, Dallas is a rival of ours and there are still quite a few people who haven’t forgiven Vick for his part in running the dog-fighting ring.

Normally politicians check the popularity of a person with their voters before they praise that person in public.  You would figure that they would be sure to check first with a person, who has been one of the most hated athletes in the nation over the last couple of years.

But obvious somebody made a mistake this weekend when Vick was honored in Dallas.

Somehow Vick was given the keys to the city and quite a few of the citizens of Dallas are making sure everybody knows they weren’t happy about it.

Dwaine Caraway, who is a city councilman and Mayor Pro Temp, is the individual who was in charge of the ceremony.  Now

The city’s real mayor Tom Leppert is trying to distance himself from the decision to honor Vick.  He went so far as to issue a statement.

“The action taken was not sanctioned by my office and was not an official ceremonial honor on behalf of the City of Dallas,” the statement read.

It seems no matter what Michael Vick does, he winds up in some controversy.  Now we’ve got some radio talk show host in Dallas who taped the ceremony of Vick being given the key to the city of Dallas.

He adopted one of he dogs that Vick had abused and accuses Vick of not caring about the dogs because he wouldn’t talk to him at the event.  You can check out the video tape below.

Wonder if he was thinking..”What the heck am i gonna do with a key to this city?”

He did something for the community down there SB weekend…bigdeal if the acting mayor or whomever wants too prop him up.

I think this would hurt less if there football team wasnt a mess and underachieved all year. Sorta makes it worse.

Other angle to it is would we want Tony Romo getting something like that here in Philly?

My message to the ol so offended guy who adopted the dog:

GO SPEND TIME WITH THE ANIMAL AND YOUR FAMILY AND KNOCK THE SELF RIGHTEOUS GARBAGE OFF!!

This crusade against this guy(Vick) is beyond old.

Watching that video makes me want to beat the hell out of that guy. People need to leave Vick alone. He did his time, and is doing great things. Everybody deserves a second chance.

President Obama’s point of honoring the Eagles for giving Vick a chance is what a civilized country should be otherwise we should just execute criminals. Which sooner or later would be all of us. Speeding ticket – kill him. He might run somebody over…etc.

African American males are disportionately imprisioned(see the film soulmate) in the USA.Plaxico burress and vick serve real time and Charlie sheen has a suitcase full of cocaine and no charges are pressed. Lindsay Lohan does coke steals has dui and serves a few minutes. You lose the right to vote and it’s hard to get a job.

I am proud of Vick for defining himself. Others still want to define him as a bad person.

A man heard that Buddha had a reputation for never getting mad. So he came to Buddha and began to insult him. He went on for over a hour cursing and berating him. When he finished Buddha asked him a question.

“If I have a gift and I give it to you, but you refuse to take it, who does the gift belong to?” The man replied – It belongs to you. Buddha said “you are correct” He then replied “I do not accept your anger” “It still belongs to you.”

green, a common saying among those who thirst for wisdom and want to separate the search for it from a religion like buddhism, such that it if you embody buddha’s philosophy but found him on the road, you must figuratively, and perhaps literally kill him to remain a pure buddhist
