Trent Cole Had Successful Elbow Surgery On Monday

Yesterday Eagles Pro Bowl defensive end Trent Cole had a successful surgical procedure on his right elbow. It was an arthroscopic procedure so he’ll be working out on the elbow this week, which will prevent any extensive atrophy of the muscles around the joint.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Michael Ciccotti of the Rothman Institute at the Thomas Jefferson Surgical Center at the Navy Yards in South Philadelphia.

Unlike the surgery which uses the knife, arthroscopic surgery is done with a needle and allows players to return to action much quicker. This is nothing major. Cole is making a good move by taking care of this right after the season, which will allow him to lift and workout the entire off season.

I wish T Cole a full & speedy recovery, this is a very important year for T Cole has dropped off most observors list’s of being a Top DE in the NFL with his inconsistent performance in the 2010 Season.. He really needs to step up his play and be a mentor for these younger players on the DE if he wants to be considered a Top DE in the NFL. T Cole has played a lot of snaps and father time will soon catch up with him…
