Eagles Working Out Syracuse Linebacker

The Eagles seem to be looking for linebackers as well they should. They’re scheduled to workout Syracuse linebcker Doug Hogue, who was an All-Big East selection this past season.

He’s expected to be a middle round pick with the ability to be an immediate contributor on special teams and project of sorts as a linebacker.

Hogue has decent size. He stands 6’2″ weighs 235 pounds. I could see him putting on some weight when he gets to the Pro’s.

He’s a converted running back who has been playing linebacker for only two years and he can run. At the NFL Combine he ran a 4.62 40-yard dash, which is good speed.
In his two years playing linebacker for the Syracuse Orangemen, Hogue made 26 1/2 stops behind the line of scrimmage, so he’s got some playmaking ability.

The young man will also be working out for the Chicago Bears this week.
