This was part of a scouting report written by Nolan Nawrocki of Pro Football Weekly about Auburn quarterback Cam Newton. He never met Newton but said he studied him and talked to others who knew him.
“Very disingenuous — has a fake smile, comes off as very scripted and has a selfish, me-first makeup. Always knows where the cameras are and plays to them. Has an enormous ego with a sense of entitlement that continually invites trouble and makes him believe he is above the law — does not command respect from teammates and always will struggle to win a locker room. Only a one-year producer. Lacks accountability, focus and trustworthiness — is not punctual, seeks shortcuts and sets a bad example. Immature and has had issues with authority. Not dependable.”
I wonder if he factored in the fact that a certain percentage of people are always jealous of Superstars like Cam Newton, who has been blessed with tremendous ability and confidence to be one of the kind.
I know people who worked around the Chicago Bulls who hated Michael Jordan and didn’t have anything good to say about him. I know guys who played with Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, John Elway and Roger Staubach, who had negative things to say about them for various reasons.
Nawrocki also had this to say about Newton.
“Highly competitive and productive against top Southeastern Conference competition — rose to the occasion against Alabama and Oregon on the biggest of stages. Very savvy — confident, charming and charismatic and can light up a room. Highly competitive and plays with passion.”

Back to the stroy on hand and Cam Newton
I think he will be a very good NFL QB if he is surrounded by a good HC and Staff. He reminds me a little between a Duante Culpepper and Donavan McNabb from his size,escapability and arm strength, In fact, I would say he is a little more polished than those 2 were when they came into the Pro’s
Wouldn’t it be amazing if the Eagles Trade Kolb to Arizona and used #5 Overall pick to select Cam Newton,, would not surprise me a bit the way Big Andy loves QB..
As an Auburn guy, i watched Newton a lot. I remember talk (before he became a star player) of him winning over the locker room immdiately. I don’t think he’s Peyton Manning, but he’s no Jamarcus Russell either. Most likely he’s a Donavan McNabb type though I don’t think he would choke in a big game. War Eagle
