I’ve been over to the Power Train facility in Cherry Hill, New Jersey numerous times in the last month or so, to watch and talk to the eight to fifteen Eagles players who work out there. Yesterday they did something which included more than lifting weights and doing cardiovascular exercises.
Michael Vick, Jeremy Maclin, Brent Celek, and Jason Avant went on a football, ran some routes and caught passes from Vick. Backup quarterback Mike Kafka was also there throwing the football, as a number of skill players got some work in South Jersey. Channel six had a camera there and got the chance to record some footage of the workout.
They didn’t have enough wide receivers, running backs and tight ends to put an entire offensive unit on the field, so it seemed that the receivers ran individual routes one-by-one and Vick, along with Kafka threw them the football.
“The one thing that we do know is that we’re professional athletes and we can’t sit around and not do anything,” Vick said to 6ABC. “The speed of this game, the toughness that you have to have and bring in to each and every week has to start from somewhere.”
Both Maclin and Celek admitted to being a bit rusty when it came to running routes and catching the football.
They plan on working out as a group two or three times a week from now on. They’re hoping that more players join them in the future, so that they can run pass plays as an offense and they want to get defensive backs and linebackers out there, so that they run against a defense.
More players should be in town within the next week. They’ve had plenty of time to do there thing in off-season. I need all hands on deck with these work-outs. If your not performing brain surgeries, opening a hospital in Haiti, operating drones in Middle east, and or working on the “end of the world” plan with Obama. Then get your tail too Power Train.
G,how did Mikes arm look?
Gary was Riley Cooper apart of the group too?
I heard Riley Cooper was taking “Acting Lessons” and going to work at the
‘Playhouse in the Park” Summer Series for some pocket change
(he’s already planning for life after football..)
LOL @ Paulman, I heard the same thing!
Rest in Peace Macho Man Randy Savage
That’s nice. Just don’t get anybody hurt, even this off-season may not be long enough to get a broken player healthy.
Nice vick is showing leadership and is deciding to workout close to home rather then go to arizona (like donovan mc choke) away from the team then ask them to join him there… vick is the complete opposite of don which is a great thing
WAS VICTOR ABIARMIRI WORKING OUT? iF SO, HOW DID HE LOOK
