As usual Andy Reid started out his session with the media today with the injury report. Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie sprained his ankle and won’t practice today. Defensive end Darryl Tapp has a pectoral strain and won’t practice. While Vince Young continues to rehab his sprained hamstring so he won’t practice today.
Reid said each player in that injured group is day to day in their status.
He expects the Eagles will faced a fired up Falcons team that is much better than the team which was dominated by the Chicago Bears. The Falcons are much tougher to beat in the Georgia Dome than they are away from Atlanta.
Big Red answered a couple of question about Falcons big halfback Michael Turner, who he called a phenomenal player and he said the Birds are going to have their work cut out trying to stop him.
Reid was asked whether rookie middle linebacker Casey Matthews would be starting again at middle linebacker and he said yes.
Reid talked about Falcons defensive end John Abraham being one of the best in the business at what he does. He also mentioned Ray Edwards who plays the other side.
Reid said Todd Herremans did some good things at right tackle but there are still a few things he needs to work on.
When asked about why Antonio Dixon wasn’t starting like he did a year ago, Reid brushed it off because he said they consider all of the defensive tackles as starters.
Reid said the Birds will continue to use the crowd noise tape at practice to have everybody ready for the noise in the Georgia Dome.
Defense improves as the game went on, tried play again and they limited them to two yards game,
Reid said he was very impressed with Falcons young signal caller Matt Ryan and he feels that every year they’re giving him a little bit more responsibility and opportunity to make plays.
i anticipate facing a fired up team every week.
whether ur sick of the dream team title, were defending nfc east champs and superbowl contenders
title or not, we have a target on our back
tying with the bengals back when we had mcnabb, and losing to the raiders
teams have off games, but were always a team that opponents want to beat regardless
why am i optimistic? we didnt do much and won convincingly against a team we were supposed to easily beat (idc how you feel, if u thought stl had a chance ur wrong and it was proven lol, and injuries are part of the game i feel bad for the players but not the teams, it happens to everybody and is not an excuse)
eagles in a dome against an overrated and non-elite falcons team
their d is weak and their o cant play from behind, and were gonna get a lead
turner 10 carries 100 yards, nice too bad you fumbled and lost to the bears, also convincingly
vick is going to be the dual threat that he is and were going to move the chains and score
ryan will have 2 turnovers, at least a pick, the other will be a sack/fumble or another pick cuz hes not that great (just standard image of a qb but still needs to improve)
lets do this, 2-0
i couldnt agree more with wmonell….2-0 BABY LETS GO!!!
We must bring our A Game. This is a trap Game. The Falcons will play this like their Superbowl. We need to run the ball early and make sure we stop the run on defense. Our young linebackers will be tested this week. Everyone must be on point. This is a statement game. If we call ourselves Superbowl contenders than we must play like it. I feel we will need 31 points to win. Birds 31 Falcons 28. Birds Go 2 and 0 Lets Do This!!!!!!!
Andrew Walter Reid
Falcons are not overrated. They are the NFC Champs and have some very good talent. To say they are overrated is just dumb. The Giants are overrated the
