The only thing that can beat the Eagles this week is turnovers and unfortunately they have started to become a turnover-prone team. Turnovers always play an important role in a game, but it will especially true with the Birds offense going against a very good Niners defense.
Quarterback Michael Vick needs to know that the Niners have an inept offense, which is going to have major problems trying to drive the length of the field against the Birds. The only way they can put a good number of points on the board will be because the San Francisco defense has been able to shorten the field for them.
Vick has got to think ball security when he’s carrying the football and he must put staying away from turnovers at the top of his mind when deciding where to throw the football. I know the Birds want to get their high octane passing game going with throws downfield to DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin, but these throws can’t be forced. The Niners defense knows what the Birds want to do.
Running the football isn’t going to be an easy thing to do against Niners Pro Bowl middle linebacker Patrick Willis and the Niners defensive front. Still they need to keep them honest with a run threat. LeSean McCoy and his ability to create something out of nothing could give the 49ers some trouble on draws and screens where he’s able to make somebody miss.
Another key for the Eagles offense will be getting into the end zone when they get inside the red zone. They can’t afford to kick nothing but field goals and let the NIners hopes of winning this game stay high. Vick and company must put the dagger in San Francisco when they get the opportunity. Each possession and each chance they get to put points on the board will be vital.
Too much hype. Fire Reid, no more spadaro excitement about the eagles any more. Reid is the problem and has to go. The writings on the wall people; get with the program.
It must really bother people that Coach Andy makes what, 4 or 5 million a year. Has total job security, will be the coach pretty much as long as he wants to be. Been here over a decade, probably going to be in the FO when he stops coaching. Has got so much money his kids did minimal time for issues that would have been far worse for somebody who doesn’t have the pocket to pay for the best attorneys and treatments. On top of all that, there is nothing the fans can do about it, not a single thing. He is here, he is staying, and if you do not like that, well, suck it, because that is how it is. You have no voice whatsoever in the matter. Oddly, for so many that hate him, the big Mormon owns you. Must be frustrating.

I’ll tell you what, it’s clear that even with not much run plays, McCoy’s success this year is already leading to consistent success with play action. Even on the plays where they don’t complete it, play action has effectively given Vick ample time to make a good throw. Definitely a step in the right direction.
