Looking Back At NFL Weekend And Ahead For MLB And NBA

The Rams need to join Kansas City and Miami and fire Steve Spagnola. They also need to trade Steven Jackson. He has been a good soldier long enough. Can you imagine him on New England or Green Bay ? He has hall of fame talent and his abilities are buried beneath the inadequacy of a franchise in disarray.  The Rams must also admit Sam Bradford is a bust and go after Matt Barkley in April’s draft.

Seattle’s Marshawn Lynch is the most under rated back in the NFL  Tavaris Jackson is a serviceable back up but they need a true number one quarterback. You can disagree but my opinion Is Peyton Manning will not be in a Colts uniform next year. Playing the hypothetical game assuming he would go there add him a few more pieces and you have something. I think San Francisco caught lightning in a bottle this year and I do really like Jim Harbaugh as a coach. But I  think they are just a bit over rated and there is not a mile of separation between the two clubs as most experts do. Say what you want about Pete Carroll he gets maximum effort out of his players and his love for the game comes across when I watch him on the side line. He took a direct shot at Andy Reid last week when he said one of the teams on the field quit that night. He has passion that Reid lacks.

What can you say about Tim Tebow ? I appreciate all of the excitement he has brought the last eight weeks but like the wildcat this too shall pass. I will be watching every snap when he faces off against Mr. Brady this weekend. I know that defense is way above average but he cant wait let me rephrase this. HE WONT keep up with Tom Terrific. The haters will finally get there way this Sunday. Pats BIG

The Pressure mounts all over for the Giants and Cowboys this weekend. Both teams are around a touchdown favorite. The Cowboys visit Tampa and The Giants are home against the Redskins. Tampa just got blown out by Jacksonville which leads everyone to believe Bucs coach Raheem Morris will make it 3 for 3 in Florida head coaches getting the ax. This is the game we have gotten accustomed to the Giants losing in years past. Not this week. I like this Giants team and talk about a solid long shot in Vegas to go to the Super Bowl right now ? Remember you read that here.

In Baseball I have to tell you about Ryan Braun buying Steroids for sale. Of course there was some sort of mix up I mean these test are only 99.999% accurate. This must be that one time ? Funny in 2001 when Braun was on a recruiting trip to Miami Alex Rodriguez had been accused of the same offense and Braun said it would be much better if he just came clean immediately. Amnesia much ?

More importantly about the LA Angels getting better, has anyone noticed St. Louis has gotten weaker ? Have the Phillies countered that with anything ? Milwaukee sure did stepping up and signing Aarmis Ramirez today for three years and 36 Million. That is a player the Phillies sorely needed. Polanco is finished. The 30 and 100 RBI would have helped solidify a line up which lets be honest has been on the decline since 2007 when they started testing heavy for PED’s. A wise man once told me there was no such thing as a coincidence. Draw your own conclusions. Nobody wants to hear this but I do not see much changing this year for the Phillies. They need to make a move to add some pop to the left side of the field. If we are going to keep Rollins and his 13 Home Runs we need to add a bat at either Third Base or Left Field .And Paplebon ? Really ? Feels like the Flyers signing Jeremy Roenick or Peter Foresberg five years too late.

The NBA is Back. I didn’t know they anointed David Stern God ? Wow did he screw up that Chris Paul trade. I am a huge fan of Doug Collins and nobody gets more out of his players. But 44-40 and a 1st round loss in the playoffs. Ok on to 2013 with them I just saved everyone a lot of time. I do believe the signing of Shane Battier is a lot bigger then most realize for the Miami Heat. As well as the loss of Tyson Chandler from Dallas to the Knicks. San Antonio has jumped the shark. I see a rematch of last years finals with a reversal in the champion this time. Heat over the Mavericks in 6.

Look for the college and pro Picks this Friday.  Have a great week. Do something selfless for somebody. It always comes full circle.

I disagree about Steve Spagnola being fired. Sam Bradford has been belittled by injuries this year and he has no weapons around him. It’s like the Eagles of 2000-2003. Donovan McNabb had no weapons around him and they didn’t break through until 2004 when they signed T.O. I expect Bradford to have a comeback year in 2012 and if theRams add some WRs and upgrade a pass defense that’s lacking talent, they might be a force. They have a good pass rush and their linebackers are solid if not spectacular. I think Spags should get one more year to see if he can take them somewhere. But they have to have a good offseason to upgrade their talent. And they should try to keep Steven Jackson. If they get better at the WR position, it will open more running lanes for him. And he has the ability to break a big run at any time.

Bradford a bust? Didnt he win ROTY? So many NFL fans have a 1 week memory. Look at all the injuries and lack of talent around him.

Mim, I agree. It’s his second year, & he has been riddled with injury this year.

It’ s my job to look forward and make educated asssessments. Many can look at th epresent and evaluate and say its too early. I respect your thoughts. But I will go a step further and say he in fact nevr develops into a great qb. He clearly lacks the mental toughness. You dont need to see tons of talent around him for that to stand out. I could be wrong but I honestly do not think so.
