The dislocating ankle injury to Ron Johnson will end his chances of making the Eagles team and open up an opportunity for another young wide receiver.
It seems the Birds are intent on giving big wide receivers a chance to try out with the Eagles. The boys in the Midnight Green signed former Northwestern University and UFL wide receiver Andrew Brewer to a one-year deal.
Brewer has great size, he stands 6’3″ 215 pounds, which used to be the norm for the west coast system. The young wide receiver played in college with Eagles backup quarterback Mike Kafka.
He was a wideout for the Omaha Nighthawks in the UFL for the last two years and during that time he got the chance to play with former Eagles quarterback Jeff Garcia.
Today the Eagles announced that Johnson underwent surgery to correct a dislocation of his left ankle. The procedure was done by Peter DeLuca and Steve Raikin at the Jefferson at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia.
Why not just sign plax. We all know the dude can still play. Red zone problem solved. Or will we even have a problem? Who knows..
Plaxico Burress is a has been. Give his being on the Eagles a rest. He cannot help this team. So Please,…… Stop It
8 TDs last year in a reserve role says Plax isn’t done. Just sign the dude…
If DeSean Jackson and Maclin are out at the same time again at any point in the season who are the Eagles starting WRs? Damaris Johnson and Jason Avant…and maybe Chad Hall? McNutt seems like he may not be fast enough to cut it in the NFL. C’mon be realistic folks…
