Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was asked a question after the game, but it was a question which included a false statement. He was asked how he felt about Andy Reid saying that he was evaluating the quarterback situation again.
Reid didn’t say he was evaluating the quarterback position like he did earlier in the season. Vick reacted to the false statement like he knew he was going to lose his job.
“Obviously, he’s thinking about making a change at the quarterback position,” Vick said after the Eagles lost to the Falcons. “The thing I do know, when I go and watch the film and evaluate myself, I’m giving us every opportunity to win. I’m trying my hardest. Some things don’t go right when I want them to, some things do.
“If that’s the decision coach wants to make, then I support it.”
One rule for players is to never assume a coach or player said something unless you hear them say it yourself. I don’t think the reporter meant to make a mistake and tell Vick that Reid said something that he never said. I would be shocked if Reid takes Vick out of the lineup because I didn’t think he played poorly today.
He didn’t turn the ball over and seemed to be accurate with his throws. I thought the defense was the biggest culprit in today’s game.
I was surprised that Vick reacted the way he did. He conceded to giving up his starting job, although Andy Reid never said he was considering taking it from him.

Not sure where this train wreck is going ..we are 3-4 trending having lost 3 games Ina row and heading into an aerial show vs new Orleans …our coach has seemingly lost the fire in his belly ,understandable ,to anyone with compassion having a family tragedy that is beyond ones comprehension.Im not apologizing for the coach..I’m just saying..the quarterback speaks of his,insecurities ,when he’s supposed to be the face of the franchise ? So we can se the results now leaderless both on the field and off.Its not enough to see effort it’s time for results and time the team shows the same resolve as he coach and have his back for a change.
I think you may be bang on about Reid deserteagle. I was suprised Reid didn’t take a little time off….perhaps a leave for 1/2 the season. Losing achild is devastating to a family. He should have stepped away for a bit.
As for where this is headed….Well, its all about next week’s game. Right now the team appears shell-shocked.
Lose next Monday, drop to 3-5 and season is basically over as far as playoffs are concerned. Battling at that point for one final spot with Seattle, Minny, Det, NO, Ariz and TB…all which will have better records than the 3-5 Birds (if they lose).
If they win next week, then 4-4 and still alive……Right now, I don’t see this team beating anyone right now.
