Busy Day In The NFL

It’s been a very busy day in the NFL as the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons get ready for the AFC and NFC Championship games.

The “almost Eagles head coach” Gus Bradley was introduced to city of Jacksonville today and this guy is very impressive.  He’s definitely charismatic.  Bradley was talking like he wanted to be Mayor of Jacksonville as well as the head coach of the Jaguars.

He would have been good for the Eagles defense because you can see he will get in guys’ faces and tell them what the deal is.  He was talking about getting after offenses and chasing excellence in every area of the game.

Joe Banner and the Cleveland Browns were busy introducing Mike Lombardi as their Player Personnel Director.  Joe was explaining why he had fired Lombardi here in Philadelphia, but was hiring him in Cleveland.

Lombardi is a very good communicator with a good eye for talent.  I think he’ll do a good job for them.   He came across well in explaining why he believes they’re going to be successful in Cleveland.

Remember he had overseen drafts in which the Eagles drafted Brian Dawkins, Tra Thomas, Jeremiah Trotter, and Bobby Taylor.  Those players helped the Eagles win for over a decade.

There’s nothing more important than drafting good players.

I like the fact that the Browns have hired Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton.  Ray is a former teammate of mine and he’s a very smart football player, who is passionate about the game.

I gotta give it to Banner, hes put together a good coaching staff around that rookie HC with Norv Turner and Horton, and now getting Lombardi to bring in the players on top of the young good players Hecket brought in, they look like their going in the right direction. Lets go Roseman, so far you got the coach you wanted, now surround him with some good experience Coords and the kind of players he needs.

Say what we will of Banner, the man is smart and knows how to surround himself with quality people. The Browns have bad 2 good Drafts the last 2 Seasons and now with Lombardi will get some more Talent
DC Horton and OC Turner have had Success in the NFl
If Chudzinski & Turner can get improve Weeden who had actually played pretty well after a shaky start and Lombardi can Draft/acquire a WR and TE
This will be a Team to compete in the difficult AFC North

Whats amazing is that as bad as the Eagles have been for the last 4 years that Andy Ried gets the same job, Marty M gets the same job and Todd Bowles gets the same job somewhere else. That is unbelievable. Martys offensive philospophy has been horrible, just horrible if he wouldnt run the ball with Shady why would you hire him in NY with no RB and a QB who cant throw? Todd Bowles? I guarentee them D players in Arizona are like WTF?
