Reports: Eagles to Workout Sharrif Floyd And Eric Fisher

Give the Eagles credit, they are doing their homework as well they should be.  It seems that they putting scheduling private workouts with every player that can be considered as a legitimate choice for the fourth pick in the first round.

Today there have been a number of reports that the Eagles are going to workout Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd and Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher.

Floyd is a local product who grew up in North Philadelphia.  He’s a huge young man with tremendous quickness and strength.  He has the potential to be a truly dominating player, who has a big upside as a inside pass rusher.

If the Birds were to draft him, they would have the best pair of young defensive tackles in the league. Last year they drafted Fletcher Cox out of Mississippi State.  I don’t see them drafting two defensive tackles in succession, but taking a close look at Floyd is part of the job.

I got an upclose look at Fisher at the Senior Bowl and he’s got great size, quickness and discipline with his technique.  I also like the fact that Fisher has a mean strength.  This young man loves to finish a block and devastate his opponents.  I would rate him above Luke Joeckel because I think he’s quicker and more athletic.

I believe Fisher has a bigger upside because he’s 6’7″ and 305 pounds.  He’s going to get bigger and stronger.

Happy to hear about, I would not be surprised of Andy Reid Selects Fisher with that #1 Pick due to his “nasty attitude” and mean streak
He reminds me a little of the way Jon Runyan use to play but is much more athletic that Runyan ever was.. Inlso think that Chip Jelky and new OL Coach Southland will fall in love with Fisher

Either, or would be fine with me! As long as it ain’t Smith, Jordan, Jones, or some out in left field head scratcher, I’m okay with it!

I really like Fisher at 4 unless they sign another tackle named Winston or Smith.

DCAR I agree with you about Peters in that we are not sure if he can return to form. I don’t want to release him, but I want to have insurance. Hopefully, he can play, you put Fisher on the right side and then Herremans can go back to guard.

bugs, IMHO, they need 2 OT’s. Peters, is slated to make $11M+. That’s way too much $$$$, for a major injury risk. I’d tell him, either pay cut, or bye bye. Sign Winston, before SD does, & draft Joeckel, Fisher, or Johnson. Problems solved. My preference- Trade down, get extra picks, & draft Johnson.

Jason Peters is not going anywhere DCar,
He will return strong this Season and re-claim his title of one of the Best LT’s
in the NFL.. You can mail it in… He’s highly ccompetitive, high motor and takes a lot of self-pride in his prepartation to play at a high level in the NFL
I have no worries about him at LT, I do worry about RT and would love to see
a Eric Fisher or a Lane Johnson take that spot from Day 1 and let Herreman compete with Watkins at RG ..
Herremans is the one who needs a major pay cut and basically is a back-up OL at this stage of his Career..

I don’t care how competitive, & how high of a motor he has. He’s 31, fat, had 2 Achilles tears, & plays a position, in which he needs to utilize, his lower body. Plus his $11M+ price tag make him expendable. PERIOD! In no way, shape, or form, will he be close to his former, dominant self. He will be re-injured, in training camp, so they better release him now, before they’re stuck with him! Get out of your state of denial. He’s done.

Just read the Saints signed Victor Butler, also read the Eagles are looking cause the coaching staff isn’t to high on Vinny Curry, my question is, why? This kid was recruited by a lot of teams that played 3-4, he also has everything Kelly is looking for, height, long arms, can move well for his size, I can’t figure this out.

I know you are joking but the Eagles dont want Revis, well the Eagles may but Chip doesnt. They want football players with winning mindsets, winning attitudes and a drive to compete. And Revis is a side show every year, he could get a 200 million contract this year with 150 million guaranteed and he would still threaten a holdout year 2. fuck that guy

I don’t want CB Revis either, believe me, but I truly believe that GM Roseman does and will make a serious pitch to the Jets to get him despite if Chip Kelly want’s him or not.. Roseman will want to make 1 more big splash in Free-Agency..

I would love if the Eagles could get CB Xavier Rhodes from Florida State in this Draft who is projected anywhere from 10th to about 16th as far as being Selected.. If Eagles Traded back a few spots and got an additional Draft pick or two and then snagged Rhodes, I would be very happy for I believe he is the Best Overall Playmaking CB in this entire Draft with much more upside over the hyped up Dee Milliner who is good, in his own right, but not the Playmaker that Rhodes is.. Rhodes is a ball-hawk, he;s long, physical, cocky and the type of CB that will be a difference maker for whoever selects him in my opinion and would match up well with the big WR’s in the NFC East that have ran circles around, over and thru the Eagles CB’s for the last few Seasons….

There are no rumors Paul. Foles isn’t going anywhere, neither is Vinny Curry.

If they do there won’t be any reaching for an overhyped Dee Millner.

I call them as I see them GMCliff, and if I don’t see them, then I make them up… I still laugh when “George Carlin” said this as the Sportscaster “Biff-Barf”
but on a semi-serious note, I don’t see neither player (Foles/Curry) as part of the Eagles Future post 2013, they are talented and will be good NFL Players, but just not a match or good fit for what Kelly’s and his Staff will employ on both sides of the Ball..

Heard Vinny Curry made a few short jokes while Roseman was walking past and the Napolean complex kicked in.
