LeSean McCoy: “I want to be more dominant”, Should be Fantasy League target

LeSeanMcCoy25Former Eagles head coach Andy Reid offense emphasized the passing game and featured the quarterback position, while Chip Kelly’s offense emphasizes the running game and features the running back position.  If Donovan McNabb didn’t play well, the Birds had very little chance of winning, LeSean McCoy will take that role in the Birds new offense.

Chances are that the Birds top running back correctly figures he’s going to get every opportunity to take his game to another level.  I agree with him.

“I think as far as talent level, I’ve got that kind of mastered,”McCoy said after showing up for Kelly’s first training camp. “I want to be more dominant. Last few years, I’ve had years that I don’t think I was a dominant player.

“I think in this offense, [with] the ability to run the ball more, I can kind of take over a game. There has been flashes of it in the past, but having the ability to do it day in and day out, game in and game out, I think that’s a different story.”

McCoy is signaling opponents that they had better game plan to stop him and he’s letting the millions of Fantasy League players throughout the country that they need to draft him.  He’s desperate to have a big year and he might carry the ball more than any back in the league.  Honestly, I think barring injury, he’ll be a great pick.

“Chip has shown that he runs the ball tons, so I think that’s kind of different,” he said. “With all the talent and the supporting cast around me, that should be easy.”

What supporting cast is he talking about?  Yes DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Brent Celek, but more importantly the big guys upfront.  McCoy is probably talking about Jason Peters, Todd Herremans, Jason Kelce, Evan Thomas and rookie Lane Johnson, the Eagles offensive line, which will be one of the best units in the league if they can stay healthy.

“I think we could be dangerous,” he said. “I think there’s big potential. We can make some big noise. I think the biggest thing with this offense, it puts you in open space. We’re constantly going, foot on the gas. Teams get tired and they’re trying to figure out and think of defensive strategy while we’re going. We’re pushing it high tempo.”

“I think it’ll be good for us, man. And the thing is now, with this team, we have more depth, especially in the running backs. If I go down or need a break, Bryce can step in with tons of speed. Even at the wide receiver level. I think the best thing thing about our offense now, we’re getting into our depth. We’re going to be tired. We’re going to be fatigued. Other guys can step in and make plays.”

“And I think the type of person Coach Kelly is, he has that attitude, too. I think that makes us more dominant as a team, that each guy has that attitude that he wants the ball and wants to make plays.”

I haven’t been this excited to watch the Eagles in years. I cant wait to spread out Washington on Monday night and reintroduce them to Shady 25 times. I think people have forgot how dynamic #25 is. He will refresh the nations memory Monday night. A buck ninety and 3 tds should jog their memory. Lets get it!

daggolden AMEN i like those stats; but i think he run will be less yards he will mostly be used as a screen pass RB but the problem is who will be defended. Plus it will be a good test for this offense against a pretty good D. I dont see washington beating us 2 times this year nor dallas we may split with giants. But i cant wait for this yr to start

I hate to hear McCoy Tooting his own ability already..
“As far as Talen Level, I think I have mastered it” ..
When will these F’n Guys llearn to stop being arrogant and sayin stupid shit to set themselves up for failure…Let your play and Team’s success do the talking for you
Can’t any Player simply state, “Hey I am excited about this years Teams chances, We’ve been working hard to improve and to be successful, etc…”

He probably meant Left-Guard “Evan Mathis”
(It’s Summer Camp for the G-Man too… ha ha )
Who likes this new format with the “Green G Logo” ..
When using my I-Phone, I don’t like it, it seems to take a good little while before getting to any of the article postings and is way too busy looking .. and looks too much like a Packers Emblem at a quick glance.. Just my 2 cents worth

Not bad gmcliff. In my league I have Cam Newton, AJ Green, LeSean McCoy and Greg Olsen as my carry over players. I have the 2nd pick in our draft where I already know AP is mine. Its on!

Dag, I had the #1 pick, and in the 6th round, I drafted Lamar Miller, and some fool wanted to trade me CJ Spiller, and Randall Cobb, for Lamar Miller, and Roddy White, because he felt CJ was too injury prone….My team is off the chain.

Matt Ryan is my back up QB. I play in the money league. I’m getting something this year.

We don’t keep that many in my league, but I will be keeping Marshawn Lynch (cost me a 3rd round pick) and Kaepernick (20th) round pick. Pretty excited about that.

We can keep 4 players at a max of 3 years They all get a ABCD determination depending on round. You can keep 1A 1B 1C and 1D player every year. Everyone else goes back in draft. So say i got mccoy 2 years ago in 1st round he is 2A this year. I get AP 1st round this year he is 1A. Next year one of them goes back in draft. Only allowed to keep one A player one b c and d. 4 rounds. 2 qbs, 4 rbs, 5 wrs, 2 te, 2 kickers, 2 def and flex.

I think Bryce Brown is gonna come in and surprise everybody. I really, really do. Nothing against Dhady (’cause I love him) but i wouldn’t get too comfortable if I were him. Gotta agree with

Me too Tsjohnson……I totally agree..If Shady gets hurt. He will be a luxury. I have him, Fred Jackson, Bernard Pierce, and Andre Brown as reserves on my Fantasy team just in case…

Also, Bryce brown and Chris Polk both lost weight .. which means theyre even faster . Brown was already running 4,37 at 220 lbs and polk 4.45 at 215.. They are both faster than mccoy but mccoy has more agility and quickness..

Polk doesn’t run a 4.4, and isn’t faster than Shady. Thats inaccurate. Polk, ran a consistent 4.6 or slower at the combine

I kind of suspect Mathis either won’t star or will be cut Kelce maybe the same since they’re both part of the smaller and fast O-Line line-up. I don’t even think Kelce was practicing with the starters during the OTAs so we’ll have to see.

uh…Arian Foster ran a 4.68 at the combine. Straight line speed doesn’t mean much for running backs that virtually never run in straight lines.

Thats true Butch.

My Point was that Polk wasn’t all that Llawrd was describing him to be. He could be cut this year.

The carries need to be distributed considering Shady gets banged up under a light to medium carrying load.

polk ran a 4.57 at 222 lbs at the combine he then dropped 7 pounds weighed in at 215 and ran a 4.45 at his proday

Pro day times are always rigged as the best out of three times ran. He is a 4.6 runner who s not faster than Shady, and he maybe cut this year.
