The Eagles made a minor move today, sending running back Felix Jones to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for linebacker Adrian Robinson.
Jones wasn’t going to make the Eagles’ roster. He hadn’t shown enough explosiveness, and he also had some issues with concentration. He was clearly behind Bryce Brown and Chris Polk on the depth chart.
Robinson made the Steelers last year as an undrafted free agent and appeared in 12 games. The Eagles have some depth issues at the linebacker position, so he’ll have a legitimate opportunity to impress and make the team in the next couple of weeks. He has a chance to contribute on special teams in the way the team expected linebacker Jason Phillips (who has been lost for the season with a torn ACL) to do.
Good Trade for both Teams..
Steelers are desperate for a RB with some hops and speed, though Felix Jones appears to have lost a little of that… LB Robinson has a shot at making Roster and would be Back-up/Special Teamer and will compete with Cheney,& Acho for final LB Spot
you’re repeating what he said
Yes but in 2 Sentences instead of 4 … Ha Ha..
Some kicking tees and clean jock straps would have been a good haul for this version of Felix Jones.
What LB position does Adrian Robinson play? ILB or OLB? I know nothing about him. I thought Geathers was a longshot on a similar type trade of nothing for nothing deal with the Colts but I think Geathers makes the team. Maybe this Robinson will too.
Robinson plays outside.
Trent Cole, Fletcher Cox, Demeco Ryans, & Brandon Graham all look below average playing that 3-4 defense. While Connor Barwin and Issac Sopoaga, 4-3 import specialists look very average. It is going to be a long long year
