Kelly Must Keep Eagles Focused On The Chargers

ChipKelly1In life, we have the tendency to look beyond the present.  When future happenings are something with greater appeal, we can miss out on what is right in front of us.

Chip Kelly has a great challenge with his group of players this week.  The Kansas City Chiefs are our week three opponent.  This week we play the Chargers.  It is one thing to know it, and another to demonstrate focus on Sunday’s game.  Professional players have tendencies to look at specific games on the schedule.   They could face a team they use to suit up for or a long-time bitter rival.  A coach is responsible for keeping the focus on the task at hand.

Chip Kelly’s message will not be lengthy.   Clear and concise, he will be confident and his men will believe.   They will accomplish great things and they know this.  Not arrogance, but a trust in this new brand of Eagles football.   Chip has a game plan his players will understand.   They view “change” as a necessity of modification.   The players know their coach will communicate with them throughout the game.   Chip’s players are executing his game-plan, but they know they need one another to win as a team.

The return of Andy Reid will take place, but not on Sunday.  Control the “now” and be 100% committed to it.  Last week was an introduction to the chapter the Eagles write this week.  The length of the book is an uncertainty, the ending a mystery.  Chip Kelly and your Philadelphia Eagles, the #1 talk in the NFL.  It feels great to be back, and with only a small sample to go on, I’m out of my mind ready for what Kelly & company does next.

Coming off a 4-12 season, 11 home losses in the last 2 years this team is in no position to overlook anyone.

Maybe im nuts but… i dont think this is an issue. Dont get me wrong… im sure they want to play him but…. They have SOO many others things going on right now…Home opener to name just 1. I think they are ALL focused on proving that this style can win. They got the attention of others and now… i think they want to shine THIS WEEK. What do others think?

after the first four weeks last year (3-1) I was apologizing for ripping Juan Castillo all off season. I’ll stay grounded and not over correct my original opinion that the Eagles defense stinks and Mike Vick will get KO’d.
Trent Cole, Mychal Kendricks, and Cary Williams did look like pro bowlers on D and Mike Vick, LeSean McCoy, DJax, and Jason Peters did also.

Hey Jeff, they sure didn’t look like the were looking ahead when they played the Redskins! I think it’s a non issue! They way Chip set this team up to where they all have to look at the sideline to see what the plays are was genius! It MAKES you have no choice but to focus of not just the game on hand but each play, with that kind of focus, I don’t see them looking to far ahead.

I honestly think the fan are looking forward to the match-up against Andy Reid’s Chiefs more so than the Eagles players. I don’t believe there are hard feelings between the players and Andy.

Don’t get me wrong, I think Kelly and the Eagles players want to beat Andy’s team, but not enough to lose focus.
