My Overall Record: 84-50.
Seattle @ Atlanta
The Falcons are done. After a terrible effort against the Panthers a week ago, the Seattle defense will give Matt Ryan and his offense similar fits.
Pick: Seattle 33, Atlanta 20
Cincinnati @ Baltimore
The Baltimore Ravens have been playing some of the ugliest football I’ve ever seen. Ray Rice has been a total non-factor, and Joe Flacco can’t get anything going with a week receiving corp. This is Cincinnati’s week to make a statement that the AFC North now belongs to them.
Pick: Cincinnati 23, Baltimore 16
Detroit @ Chicago
I don’t think Josh McCown has another performance in him like the one he put out on Monday night. Detroit has had two weeks to prepare for this game, and Reggie Bush and Calvin Johnson will give them the mismatches they need to take down the Bears on the road and get out in front in this division.
Pick: Detroit 31, Chicago 17
Philadelphia @ Green Bay
Suddenly the Eagles’ offense has found themselves. That’s bad news for a Packer defense that has been lit up in the last two weeks by Josh McCown and Christian Ponder. Without Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay offense becomes much more manageable.
Pick: Philadelphia 30, Green Bay 20
St. Louis @ Indianapolis
The Rams are playing with a little heart right now, but they just don’t have the offensive firepower to handle the Colts on the road.
Pick: Indianapolis 27, St. Louis 13
Oakland @ New York Giants
The Giants don’t believe they’re out of the NFC East race just yet, while the Raiders are playing some bad football and look like they’re about ready to go into the tank for the rest of the season. New York wins an ugly game at home.
Pick: New York 20, Oakland 16
Buffalo @ Pittsburgh
The Steelers finally scored more than 19 points last week. The only problem was that they gave up 55. They should put forth a much better defensive effort against a Buffalo team that has some big problems at the quarterback position.
Pick: Pittsburgh 23, Buffalo 13
Jacksonville @ Tennessee
The Jaguars are in serious danger of going 0-16.
Pick: Tennessee 35, Jacksonville 13
Carolina @ San Francisco
The Panthers have gotten themselves back into the playoff conversation with their recent winning streak, but they’ll now have to go on the road and beat a team that’s actually pretty good. San Francisco has had two weeks to prepare for this game, and with Colin Kaepernick finally beginning to hit his stride, I believe the 49ers roll to victory and expose the Panthers as pretenders.
Pick: 49ers 27, Carolina 17
Houston @ Arizona
Case Keenum looked pretty good in a loss to the Colts last week. Carson Palmer has been a turnover machine all year for the Cardinals, and I think the Houston defense puts forth a nice effort on the road that gets them back into the win column.
Pick: Houston 23, Arizona 20
Denver @ San Diego
Peyton Manning has had two weeks to get ready for this game, and his offense will be ready to light up the Chargers as they inch closer towards a showdown with Andy Reid’s unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs.
Pick: Denver 38, San Diego 28
Dallas @ New Orleans
The Saints won’t lose at home following a loss. The New Orleans defense is good enough to limit what Tony Romo and the Dallas offense can accomplish.
Pick: New Orleans 30, Dallas 20
Miami @ Tampa Bay
How in the world did these two teams get picked to play a Monday night game this late in the year?
Pick: Miami 23, Tampa Bay 21
Danny, you have a record better than ‘Vegas Vic’ ever had.
Jay Cutler is playing for the Bears Sunday
Stafford has never won playing at Soldier Field..
Forte is having a nice Season, Lions are always shaky on the Road..
I like the Bears 31-27
‘over’ is the correct call there.
with all the hoopla over Kap, RG3, Luck and Wilson; I forgot about how good Cam Newton is. He might very well be the best of the bunch. If the Eagles can win today then we have to start hoping some of these teams start to lose for 6th wild card spot.
it is a catch 22, I don’t want the 49ers to win but the Eagles might need Carolina to lose this game. I don’t like and/ or want to cheer for Jim Washburn or Suh but it might be more advantageous to get another loss on the bears record.
Perhaps lucky for Carolina they had a fanbase, owner and team who was patient enough to allow for 2 losing seasons, under 60% and 30 interceptions with their younq QB.
How they let him work through his abysmal 2nd, 6th and 10th starts where he threw 3, 3, and 4 ints.
Or his 19th start when he rolled out 53% and another 3 int disaster.
Rookie QBs take (at least) a year to develop. At least. Often 2. They start hitting their prime in their 3rd and 4th seasons (usually)
We have a young QB tying NFL records in his 10th start, but idiots like Koolbreeze and TS want to either:
Go back to an old man who is finished or draft another QB next year.
All because he had a bad game against Dallas.
(unlike the clowns around here who want to toss our young QB overboard because he had a bad game against Dallas)
And we also have (worrisome to me) a mgmt. and coaching staff who also don’t seem to understand this principle and ran with the short sighted “best guy” (and weren’t they wrong on that also!) strategy instead of doing what was best for the long term improvement of the Eagles.
Two picks for the day…
San Diego upsets the Broncos in Jack Del Rio’s debut… its a shootout but turnovers kill the Broncos late.
SD 37 Den 34
Tampa Bay wins their first game of the season over the Dolphins, who have had distractions all week…
TB 24 Miami 14
Ram over Colts 31-27
Ravens 26- Bengals 23
