The chances of Week 16 ending and the Eagles being NFC East champions is a possibility. For the purpose of “keeping it real,” my gut instinct is telling me the Kurt Cousins led Redskins will not take down Cowboys.
It will come down to the final week when we travel to Arlington Texas. Week 16 can’t be overlooked. The Bears are playing terrific “offensive” football. Forte is a talented ballcarrier and is a terrific receiver; in addition to being one of the top pass protectors at the running back position.
Coming off of a week where our secondary looked awful in addition to key players sustaining injuries,we have two physical specimens in Marshall and Jeffrey to deal with. Bennett over the middle is also a mismatch that Davis and company will have to design a plan for “damage control.”
The Bears defense has been awful at stopping the run. McCoy only ran the ball eight times last week. It would appear that running Shady after getting away from feeding the NFL rushing leader would be a sure bet game-plan.
Last week Chip viewed the rookie Patterson as a return threat and opted to kick away, sacrificing field position for the “possibility” of the big return. What will he do this week with the proven veteran Hester?
Kelly received a lot of criticism for his decision making last week. A few weeks back when the Eagles knew the weakness of the Cardinals was covering the tight-ends, Chip made it a point of emphasis to attack the opponent’s weakness.
Kelly has shown at times to be a student of the game, while others leaving us scratching our heads.
One could argue the Bears have more on the line than the Eagles do. People are speculating how Chip Kelly bounces back from the disappointing performance versus the Vikings. Sunday Night Football, a perfect instrument to spin all of these topics for all of America to view with this prime time match-up.
For many, it feels like the loss to the Vikings erased much of the existence of our five game win streak.
The energy has shifted, and doubt has crept back in. I expect a win on Sunday. I feel we are the better football team. The game is at our house, the samehouse we have won three consecutive games.
We will have the opportunity to seek revenge versus the Cowboys on December 29th the schedulemakers have the Chicago Bears as our opponent this week.
We will see Sunday Night how Chip Kelly and company respond to their most recent setback, merely another chapter in this storybook season none of us could have anticipated.
With Week 17′s match against the Dallas Cowboys shaping up to be a showdown for the division, Denny Basens and Jeff Kolsky are planning to get a group together to watch the game at XFINITY Live, and we would like to extend invitations to any and all readers of GCobb.com to come out and join us. We sincerely appreciate all who read, comment, and make this website great, and we’d love the opportunity to meet some of the readers and experience a great game together.
If Dallas wins the announcers will be talking about is it time to get Foles and McCoy out of the game by the middle of the 3rd quarter because the Eagles will be getting blown out IMO. If Dallas loses the Eagles will make a game out of it but probably will still lose. The game just means so much more to Chicago and I don’t see the Eagles winning this week. If the roles were reversed then yes I like the Eagles this week. It comes down to the Eagles going to Jerrys World next Sunday night and winning vs the Boys. Just the way I see it.
Foles and other young players need as many starts as possible to develop. But McCoy, DJax on punts, Cole, Peters, Ryans and other 5 year plus vets might benefit from the reduced workload in the second half.
Chicago fired a 10 win coach last year. Trestman has to make the playoffs or the firing of Lovie Smith was a HUGE mistake.
Worst case scenario is Eagles beat Chicago but lose to Dallas giving the Packers the division because the Eagles knocked out the Lions and Bears for them.
We need the win..I think there is a good chance that Dallas folds the tent, Romo chokes up and loses to the Redskins! We have to give Shady the ball this week. Shady and the Offensive line has to take over the game. The defense needs just a few stops, a turnover or two…and that will take us into the playoffs!
Wel, we see what happens if we put the game on Foles weak arm.
This team win by running the ball and covering Foles deficiencies.
Check Downs, Bubble Screens big chunks of yards, Screens, and good play action where the defense is totally fooled is the only way Foles can succeed.
Here’s the problem Folks.
Serious winds at night in Philly, so teams will play close the line of scrimmage to take away the short high percentage stuff and Shady, daring Foles to cut through the wind to complete passes down the field.
Cutler have the arm to thrown in wind.
Foles don’t!
So, we can expect a bunch of wobbly ducks thrown into the wind, up for grabs that translates to interceptions.
Bears 34
Eagles 20
14 of the bear points comes off of Foles interceptions.
3rd straight game Foles looks lost for the first 3 quarters.
Sounds like a confident fan rooting for his team, huh.
Stay with your DeadSkins you Fraud, and troll another team’s website you loser.
green, why do you keep responding to the ball-less, racist, front running, POS troll? He gets off on it. Don’t feed the animals.
I hope you’re wrong. Yes Cutler has a cannon, but he also suffers from Favreitis. If our defense decides to show up, it isn’t inconceivable that Cutler gives a way a few himself. It’s not like we have Eli going into this game. As I’ve stated before, I never thought Foles was as bad as the Dallas game, nor am I drinking the Kool-Aid of the Oakland game.
