The Philadelphia 76ers lost their match with the Miami Heat on Friday neat 101-86. Their record falls to 13-26.
- The Heat took control of this game early, outscoring the Sixers 34-24 in the first quarter and never looked back.
- The Sixers managed only 17 points in the second quarter, and the game was already decided by halftime.
- Miami’s defense held all of the Sixer starters in check. Philadelphia never led in this game.
- Thaddeus Young was held to just 3-13 shooting for 10 points. He did have a few nice defensive plays, as he picked up four steals.
- Michael Carter-Williams connected on just one of his seven shots. It was a rough night for the rookie, as he wasn’t even able to contribute in other categories like he normally does. Tonight he gathered just one rebound and handed out only two assists.
- Spencer Hawes had the best statistical night of any Sixer with 10 points and 10 rebounds, but he still shot a woeful 5-14.
- Evan Turner had just 11 points.
- If there was a bright spot in this game, it’d have to be Dewayne Dedmon, who gathered seven rebounds for the second straight night. Dedmon has 14 boards in the last two games.
Final Thoughts
This was a loss that you could see coming from 100 miles away.
Entering this game, the Heat had been on a frustrating three-game losing streak.
They also weren’t about to take the Sixers lightly after falling to them on Opening Night back in October.
The end result was a dominating performance in which the Sixers never really had a chance and were completely overwhelmed by the superior talent and experience of Miami.

Jon hart I think you were right about embiid. Fuck wiggins and Parker I want sixers to get this big fucker
I told you! Embiid is a beast. He may be going 1 overall though because hes playing like a mad man. He has way too much upside, 7’0 250, athletic, versatile, a defender and scorer.. If we can get our hands on him we’d be set at center and power forward for the next 10-15 years.. My lineup would look like this after we trade MCW to get into the top 3..
PG Marcus smart
SG Tony Wrotten
SF Andrew Wiggins/Jabari Parker
PF Joel Embiid
C Nerlins Noel
That’s a championship starting lineup right there. This would be the team to beat for years to come. The new twin towers, a team that can be lockdown defensively and get out on the fast break and score, but could also slow it down and feed the post to Embiid..
