Denver Has Too Much Offensively For The Pats

PeytonManning1I’ve got Denver winning the first game of today’s NFL action.  They’ve got too much firepower for the New England defense to stop.

I don’t have a lot of confidence in Peyton Manning as a playoff quarterback, but I think he will get it done today.  His playoff problems are in his head and you can see that he starts to press when something goes wrong because he knows what people are going to say.  Manning has to play this game like it’s a regular season game.  He must focus on the detail of doing his job and not the circumstance of the game.

Manning should play with confidence by going for the jugular immediately.  He can’t play scared or it will be ineffective if he makes a mistakes.  Manning must play without fear.

Former NBA Superstar Michael Jordan was one of the greatest clutch athletes of all time, said, “You can’t be afraid to lose.”  Manning’s play will be the key to the Broncos winning the game because New England doesn’t have the defensive personnel to stop them.  Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will try to play some tricks on Manning with their coverages to get him off of his game.

The Broncos have some outstanding targets for Manning.  Here are the stats of his top four targets:  Demaryrius Thomas 92 receptions 1430 yards and 14 touchdowns, Eric Decker 87 receptions for 1288 yards and 11 touchdowns, Julius Thomas 68 catches 788 yards and 12 touchdowns, and Wes Welker 73 receptions 773 yards and and 10 touchdowns.

I look over at Tom Brady and the Patriots and they can’t match all of these weapons.  I think the Pats will try to play ball control with their running games and a short passing attack, but I don’t think they have enough fire power to stay up with the Broncos.

I see the Denver passing attack being too much for the Pats and it’s beautiful weather in Denver today. I’ve got Denver winning 38 to 24.

NE showed no commitment to the run game, which surprised me because they have had much success with it in their last few games…Using the run game keeps the others team defense on the field, but you have to stick with it.

As a result, Peyton Manning and the Broncos who has a balanced attac, wore out the NE defense, and kept Brady off the field.

I don’t recall Brady going long, except for maybe once…No ground game, no long game, just Brady short passing at lower efficiency, a recipe for losing.

The Broncos were clinical, and I’m rooting for them to win the Lombardi trophy.

The 49ers-Seahawks game has been a defensive battle, with more than a little chaos…If Seattle wins, their defense will be a challenge for the Broncos, probably the biggest challenge they’ve faced: Should be a good SB.
