- Ben Revere went 1-4 with a triple.
- John Mayberry started in left for the struggling Domonic Brown, and went 0-3.
- Mario Hollands worked a scoreless sixth.
- Ken Giles struck out two in a clean seventh.
- B.J. Rosenberg, recently recalled from Triple-A, allowed two runs on three hits in 0.2 innings pitched.
- Jake Diekman recorded the final out in the eighth.
- Jonathan Papelbon earned his 18th save of the year.
