On The Mound

- Pinch-hitter Xavier Paul scored the team’s only run with a solo homer in the seventh inning.
- Odubel Herrera went 1-3 with a single out of the leadoff spot.
- Freddy Galvis went 1-4 with a single.
- Grady Sizemore went 0-2, dropping his average to .167.
- Ryan Howard went 0-2, making him 0-6 in his last two games.
- Darin Ruf got a start in left, and went 1-3 with a single.
