Final Thoughts
This was a thoroughly depressing game on a number of levels.
First, we have ace Cole Hamels who gave up more than four runs for the second time in his first three starts. Run support is a rare thing for Hamels, but today he was given a lead and failed to protect it. It was a lackluster effort from Hamels.
The team is now on a five-game losing streak, and with a miserable lineup that has still yet to score more than five runs, things won’t be improving anytime soon.
