First it was Joseph Randle, then it was Emmitt Smith and earlier this week it was LaDainian Tomlinson saying the same thing bout DeMarco Murray. He could have gained substantial more yardage last year for the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaking with Jay Betsill of the Dallas Morning News, Tomlinson agreed with Randle and Smithc:
“As a guy that watches a lot of film, Emmitt is correct. There was a lot of times, and DeMarco is a very physical runner and instead of making that last guy miss and taking it for 50 or 60, he would try and run him over. That’s just his style and he would end up getting tackled for 20 instead of 50. So Emmitt is right in that sense, but at the same time, one thing that I do respect about DeMarco is he knows his strengths. He is not a juke guy, he’s a downhill, physical runner.”
I decided to let you make the assessment for yourself. Check out this highlight reel from a year ago and tell me what you think. Does he leave yardage on the field?
Evert rb leaves yds on the field he’s no different than shady in thar aspect.
2014 Regular Season Stats for DeMarco Murray
392 Carries – 1845 Yards – 4.7 Yards per Carry Average – 13 TD’s
15 Carries of 20 + Yards , 85 First Downs made, 3 Fumbles
57 Receptions for 416 Yards – 7.3 Yards per Catch – 2 Fumbles
2014 Post-Season
44 Carries – 198 Yards – 4.5 Yards Average – 2 TD’s
2 Carries of 20 + Yards, 12 First Downs , 1 Fumble
I would say DeMarco Murray had a pretty damn good 2014 Season..
He had about 500 Total Touches with 5 Fumbles which averages about
1 out of a 100 Touches…
More interested in down and distance after he carries on first and 10 and another unmeasurable how did the defenses do after 4 quarters of getting hammered by him? My guess is if you take an analytic look at sweetness you could say he left meat on the bones… I call bullshit
I would be curious to see what Murray’s Yards after Contact were in2014 which I would think would be up there pretty good…I would think someone keeps those type of stats
Probably MarshawnLynch probably leads in that category but Murray should be up there too..
Based on that film he did leave 1 yard on the bone.
Did NOT leave one yard…. Guy is a beast.
DM left behind “dry bones” no meat!!
Those retired RBs are playing “glory days”
