Josh Huff will be the first one to speak of his disappointing rookie season. He expected more of himself after a college career at Oregon that made him a third round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles. Guys selected after him like John Brown of the Arizona Cardinals and Martavis Bryant of the Pittsburgh played significant roles in2014, while Huff did little to impress.
Josh Huff returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, one in the preseason against the Bears and another during the regular season against the Tennessee Titans. Not much else to his stat line; and most recall the fumble in Arizona as the summary to his first year in the NFL.
Huff won’t use the injury sustained in the preseason as an excuse. He has acknowledged that the speed of the game wasn’t necessarily the most challenging obstacle, but it was the mental part of things. Huff knew what he wanted to do with the football once it was in his hands, but it was obvious that his mind and body were working at two different speeds.
There is certainly an element of top end speed that Huff can bring to the Eagles offense, the ability to take the ball, makes guys miss and outrun the defender. He is at his best with the ball getting to him quick, allowing for blocks to set up what he considers to be an obstacle course that he must decipher in a fraction of second.
Huff worked hard in the offseason to improve his physical stature in preparation for a big sophomore season. He also a new father; says that having a son has made him a better man and he feels will translate to a more mature player for the 2015 season.
The Eagles know what they have with Jordan Matthews, Riley Cooper, Miles Austin and even what Nelson Agholor brings to the receiving core. Chip is really the only guy who knows about Huff, a guy that he in all regards “reached” for in the 2014 NFL draft.
I’ve watched a lot of tape on Huff, and I do see the type of talent that translates to the NFL level. He is currently running with the 1’s in three receiver sets, and I expect this trend to continue. Huff is not a guy that is going to rack up a ton of receptions, guys like Matthews and Agholor are the guys that will out up big totals in that category.
Huff I expect to take on the role of a Percy Harvin during his time in Minnesota and even a bit of what Antonio Brown was asked to do during his early years in Pittsburgh.
Like Sproles, Huff can score on special teams, via reception and rushing the football. If Huff allows himself to be him and not try to do too much, I believe he will play a key role in 2015.
PbwhahahahahahhahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAWHHAHAA!!!!!!!!!!
Bull….
Josh Huff is a KR/PR – nothing more…..PERIOD
Last year his production would match your statement, huff looked unpolished as a wr. I know that the Oregon ties were thought to help ease learning curve of nfl, but huff looked lost out there.
The guy has a drive, a mental hunger to produce this year. And I think Paul man is accurate with his projections.
Jeff, I think anyone who thinks he is more than what he is, is a fool….
His drive has nothing to do with the ceiling of his talent…..
I see a big jump from Josh Huff this Season and get about 45 Receptions for
500-600 Yards and a couple of TD’s and will make some plays on Reverses, End-around plays as well as on Special Teams.
No Pro-Bowler but a nice contributor to the Team…
Huff is a stud with the ball in his hands. He is a DBs worst nightmare to tackle. The issue is getting the ball on his hands. If he gets 60-80 touches he will score 8+ tds. Those DBs dont want no part trying to tackle him.
Huff is a Converted RB playing WR and has great Natural Running Instincts and lower body strength, he just needs to continue to work on his pass-catching skills and use those hands instead of letting the ball come into his body like he did last year.. Natural Receivers only use their Hands when Catching Passes.. I see no reason he doesn’t get 4-5 Touches a Game
Now your changing your stance on Huff can you stick with one thing all the way through without flip flopping on things all the time. You were not saying this last season.
I said last Seasonabout Huff that he was Drafted too early and that he needed to work on catching the ball within hands as he is not Natural Receiver and I much preferred aDontaMoncreif or Martavius Bryant who were still on the BoardwhenHuff was Drafted
Fast forward to the present after a 9 Catch and 128 Yards Receiving Rookie Season with2-3 Turnovers and there should’ve only one direction for Huff to go.. He’s a natural runner with great open field, instinctive moves, but obviously he has to learn to run routes and become a better receiver and Year #2 will be huge forhimand for the Eagles if they are going to move forward.. There is no reason he can’t get 40-45 Catch’s for 500-600 Yards and a couple of TD’s and some nice Kick-Off Returns.. He has the Talent,Skill &Desire and now needs to put it together… If he fails to take advantage this year, His Eagles & NFL Career will be a short one…
Yeah, based on what Paul??….
Any 3rd WR on the Eagles or in the NFL in today’s Pass-Happy Teams should be able to put up decent #’s of 45-50 Receptions GMCliff ..
When your the 3rd/4th WR, you are typically up against Nickel Backs and should be able to take advantage of knowing the routes and making some plays..
That makes no sense, that doesn’t ensure anything…..that’s BS….Who was the 3rd receiver when DJax, and Riley Cooper were having career years??…
….Who was the 3rd receiver last year that accomplished that???
And when he comes nothing close to that – will you stick to your opinion, or will you proudly backpedal???….
Josh Huff is nothing but a KR/PR
I see the talent..the ability to break tackles, the elusiveness…he will contribute this year!
I don’t think nothing of Huff he’s a disaster waiting to happen special teams player only nothing more.

“from the streets” lol
Dr. Dre has lived in a gated community for the last 25 years.
Albums a bust. Sounds like a billionaire senior citizen wrote it. Damn. Hip hop is dead. A Canadian middle eastern guy is currently King.
Brutal.
If it sounds like a billionaire senior citizen wrote it, its because that’s exactly what happened.
No artist can pump out the same shit they did when they were young and full of passion. The dude has been sitting in his gated mansion with a pair of headphones on for the past 20 years.
How could you have expected different?

Ya vin I know. Lol that’s what DRE is
I just figure every album he made and produced has been bananas Was expecting fire. Expecting raps about good ol Cali weed. Being a billionaire and other stuff. Expectations were high cuz of his track record. It wasn’t awful but too many features artists. Album was like 20% DRE 80 % others.
