Final Thoughts
After a pretty grim 0-4 start, the Phils managed to turn things around to take two of three from the Mets.
Jeanmar Gomez providing some stability at the backend of the bullpen has been enormous for the club, as the young righthander picked up saves in both wins.
After the first week of play, you have to pretty satisfied with what the starting pitchers have done. The trio of Hellickson, Aaron Nola, and Vince Velasquez all turned in some pretty effective starts and gave the team a chance to win. Charlie Morton was the only guy in the rotation that was outright bad, and the potential is there for Jerad Eickhoff to be a solid piece as well.
The team now has a little bit of momentum to work with as they prepare for their home opener.
Fairly decent 1-3 starting pitching. Will be interesting to see how they do for a couple of months, then we can go out and get some players that can hit!
Philadelphia Flyers owner Ed Snyder passed away. Condolences to the Snyder family and all Flyers fans who appreciates his contribution to the city of Philadelphia and the game of hockey.
