Carson Wentz Expects To Have A Good Relationship With Sam Bradford

CarsonWentz1One of the key questions Carson Wentz was asked this afternoon during his news conference prior to the Eagles three-day rookie camp, which started today was about his relationship with the Birds current starting quarterback Sam Bradford.  Of course you know how Bradford refused to attend the Eagles voluntary workouts for a week and a half while demanding to be traded out of Philadelphia because the Eagles had moved up to number two in the draft in order to select Wentz.

Wentz has yet to speak to Bradford but he’s looking forward to working with him and despited battling with Bradford for the starting quarterback job, Wentz expect problems in his relationship with the former Heisman Trophy winner.

“Personally, I don’t think there’ll be a lot of tension,” Wentz said. “People might make it out to be, but I think coaches and everybody have to be on the same page and I think it’ll be a really good working relationship, for sure.”

“I think the relationship with him, and really, the other quarterbacks in the room, I think it’ll be great,” Wentz said.  “I think it’ll be a really competitive atmosphere. Hopefully, we’ll all learn together and grow together and really push each other, and ultimately (that will) lead to benefiting the team and winning a lot of ballgames.”

I can appreciate the positive attitude of Wentz, but I don’t think he’s going to have much a relationship with Bradford. Who knows the competition may make Bradford a better quarterback, but I don’t see them having a warm and fuzzy relationship.

Wentz has an outgoing type of personality while Bradford is more of an introvert.  I could see Wentz winning over his teammates because of his leadership qualities especially if he’s doing well at practice and Bradford is struggling in the games.

This kid has it. Leader.

Now just learn playbook and compete.

I know the plan is for CW to sit and learn but I hope he makes that plan change by end of Training Camp.

I think it would benefit the HC to have Bradford out of town and change expectations. You could still start off with Daniel but I would just love the story line of Wentz starting his first pro game against the team that let him get to Us

The Eagles have a WR trying out by the name of Kyle Washington. 6’5″ 200 lbs. They gave the kid jersey # 7. Washington played QB in college but is attempting to transition to a WR. I find it funny that they gave him the same # as Bradford.

All 3 starting Eagles LBs missed games last season. Najee Goode is the only other LB on the team that has NFL game experience and he was awful. Hopefully this Joe Walker 7th round pick from Oregon can play because durability in the starters is expected. Can the other 7th round draft pick play LB,Alex McCalister from Florida?

The thinnest and weakest Position on the Team is the LB Corp in terms of Depth.. On a Side Note, the Eagles probably feel that Conor Barwin,
Brandon Graham and Even MSII can play a little OLB if pressed into an emergency situation.. Kendricks can also Play Inside if need be though its not the best option…
This is why I really liked and wanted OLB Jordan Jenkins at #79 Pick instead of Guard Seumalo. Jenkins at 6-4 260lbs was a very under the radar solid PLayer for the U Of Georgia and was a 3 Down LB who was very strong in the Defending the Rush, Dropping back in Pass Coverages and could also Blitz a little bit.. The Jets Selected him 4 Picks later at #83
I do like Guard Seumalo, but thought the Eagles really needed to go LB there at #79 to get a quality one and grab a OL in the 5th Round

Kind of funny how all these local and National Media members vilifying Sam Bradford for Jeffery and Howie missed this malcontent situation.

paulman

Howie should have stuck with his Gut Feeling and let the loser Sam Bradford walk in Free-Agency and especially knowing that QB Chase Daniels was going to follow HC Pederson to the Eagles .. This was really the only real Blunder of Howie’s Off-Season and maybe they can still dump him to somebody by the time Summer Camps arrive though its likely they are stuck with him for 2016…..

Its been widely reported that Howie was not a Fan of Sam Bradford from Day 1 from even when Chip Traded for him last Year and only Re-Signed him to to keep some sense of continuity and stability at the QB Position for the New incoming Coach (Doug Pederson) and that Owner Lurie wanted also

yeah tweeting about practice is the dumbest thing ever– really nice throw down the sidelines to matthews???? um its practice, no contact– you can’t force fumbles and whatever we might think of sideways he can throw a pass 40 yards down the field to a receiver… i mean 80% of the hs qb’s can make that throw… wtf.

No Cox,
No Sproles,
But Sam’s in town collecting his $22 million.
So is Chase collecting his $13 million.
And Nobody wants to watch either of them. Bwhaahahahahahahaha.
Day one was post draft press conference; this is Day two of the HC Doug Pederson saying:
Sam is #1, Chase # 2, Carson #3 —
Soon the fan base won’t accept that prearrange press conference response.
