The situation at starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles is awkward. Head coach Doug Pederson supports Sam Bradford as “his guy,” but the quarterback himself has admitted that he is simply manning the position on a temporary basis.
A quarterback in the NFL needs to walk the thin line of being cocky while exuding confidence. His determination to win at any cost must create fear for opposing defenses. That type of personality would not best describe Sam Bradford. It would appear that the only way to show the “killer instinct” will be with his performance on game day.
It’s quite simple for Bradford moving forward. If he plays well, he will hear less booing. He should expect to hear plenty from the fan base who will hold onto their grudge for how he went about the process of requesting a trade. Fans are going to let it be known that they want to see Carson Wentz. There will be fans that go as far as saying they would rather have Chase Daniels starting then Bradford.
Does Bradford have the necessary thick skin to ignore the comments and let his play “hush” the negativity?
The issue with Bradford playing well is the guy has not had a great deal of success at the NFL level. Yes, the play of Bradford was better in the second half of the 2015 season, but he still demonstrated limitations with what he could do as a quarterback. Game tape provides all that needs to be seen, Sam Bradford is an average NFL quarterback.
The real question will come if Bradford performs poorly. Would rookie head coach Doug Pederson give into temptation, putting Wentz in as quarterback after weeks of endless questions and articles by the media?
It’s going to be a circus with the Eagles for yet another season. The starting quarterback in Sam Bradford will get his share of attention, but the real focus will be Carson Wentz. How will Bradford handle not being the “guy” even though he is the starting quarterback?
If Bradford needed to take some time to clear his mind after the Eagles traded up to number two and select Wentz, how will Bradford react when he can’t go and hide during the regular season?
He (Bradford) was a poor acquisition by Kelly and then a poor re-signing by Roseman.. He’s stuck in Philly for 2016 so Bradford, the Eagles and Us Fans will just have to make the best out of an awkward situation and hope for the best..
The opening for a Wentz takeover is in 2nd week in December. (NYG, Wash, Dallas all at home plus Ravens away) not difficult defenses for 4 game introduction. November has games against 3 superbowl contenders in GB, Cincinnati and Seattle with Bengals and Seahawks games away which the birds should avoid starting a rookie against to begin his career.
I don’t think Wentz sees the field in 2016 unless there are injuries..
If Bradford craps out, then Daniels will get his chance and play out the 2016 Season ..
2017 is open Competition between Daniels & Wents going into 2017 Summer Camp..
Already cannot wait for that qb competiton paulman. Next season is going to be exciting.

I believe carson palmer is the only qb to sit and learn for a season. I kno A Rod had like 3 years. But he had favre and multiple seasons.
Its very rare for this plan to work out in terms of sitting your franchise player for a season. Doug Peterson and Company will not care what the fans say boo, or chant.
We also have 2 qbs ahead of wentz that are veterans and kno the system better.
So our situation is different then most franchises.

I agree believe thiswas Doug Pederson’s Planfromthe get go was Playing Bradford in 2016 withDaniels as Backup I case of Injury and groom the Draft Pick which I’m sure Dougie had no idea this his future QB would end up being Carson Wentz at the #2 Pick…He was probably hoping for a Paxton Lynch/Connor Cook, etc at #13 when this Off-Season began when he got the Job until the Trades, Free-Agency and run up to the Draft was happening

I’m happy we all are so dismissive of the likely outcome ,that ..Number 7 ,aka ..”Sam I am” aka “slouchy ” if in a true competition will lose that straight up..what if …the Wentz talent level creates an obvious disparity ..He strong arms his way ,in my estimation,during pre season ..What if he’s special ….day one …odds and trends are saying otherwise ,but as long as he’s on the roster and getting paid ,you never know what’s to come ..Unforseen injuries ,around camps ,could likely still grease SAMs departure ..Three absolutes. Death ..Taxes ,and Sam gets booed like maybe no other …doe eyes might even tear up …a good excuse to check off …id guess ..lets be real ..this guys strategically spent capital he doesn’t possess ..he’s nothing special…he raises the proverbial bar with his bulging biceps …please ..like elway said. Eagles Released Punter Ryan Quigley and Signed Big Athletic DT Derrick Lott (6-4′ – 315lbs) from University of Tennessee – Chattanooga to give them more depth at DT where they are a little thin and add with the possibility that Fletcher Cox may Hold Out come Camp time
Lott played his First 2 Seasons with U Of Georgia then Transerred to UT-Chattanooga where he dominated versus less talented and smaller players at the FSC Collegiate Level
Scouting Reports give him good marks for pash-rushing ability,quick feet and sound techniques for a big guy.. How he will adapt going against other big and strong Players will tell the tale but could be a real find off the Waiver Wire and help with an inside Pass Rush which is a trademark of a Jim Schwartz Defense…

Schwartz went on to also state that M Jenkins & R McLeod could really be a Special Safety Tandem and one of the Best Units in the NFL

I believe Pederson’s Rushing Attack will be more of a simpler Zone Scheme and Power Rushing between the Tackles as opposed to the more horizontal running plays we saw with Chip Kelly.. at least I hope we do and what the KC Chiefs has more often that not with RB Charles and then let him cut to the outside once he ran thru the original hole and passed the line of scrimmage into the 2nd level…
Peterson will deploy many packages similar to every other coach. Personnel grouping will be dictated by down and distance, defensive alignments and his comfort with said personnel groups.
Yes, but as with every Coach on Offense and Defense, there will be a “Base-System” that all other formations will stem from based on the variables you mentioned above.. Hopefully Injuries will not be one of the Variables that Coach Pederson has to game plan around too often..
