Note From The Phillies’ 8-2 Loss To Colorado

The Philadelphia Phillies lost their fourth straight game on Tuesday night, falling to the Rockies 8-2. Their record drops to 15-28.

On The Mound

  • Zach Eflin was lit up for the second straight start. Eflin gave up eight runs on 10 hits and two walks over six innings.
  • Eflin surrendered three homers. His ERA has shot up to 5.36.
  • Mark Leiter took over in the seventh and pitched two scoreless innings.
  • Hector Neris got some work in with a scoreless ninth.

At The Plate

  • For the second straight night, the offense managed next to nothing, scoring just two runs.
  • Andres Blanco got a start at third, and drove in the team’s only run.
  • Andrew Knapp hit a solo homer in the ninth.
  • Cesar Hernandez went 1-5 with a single.
  • Freddy Galvis hit second and went 0-5.
  • Aaron Altherr went 2-4 with a couple of singles.
  • Tommy Joseph went 1-3 with a single.
  • Odubel Herrera went 2-4 with a double.
  • Ty Kelly started in left and went 0-4.

Final Thoughts

What an improvement!

The Phillies doubled their offensive output from a night ago.

What a mess.

Two straight home games where the Phillies have been utterly humiliated, losing to the Rockies by a combined score of 16-3.
