The Philadelphia Phillies snapped their five-game losing streak on Thursday afternoon, defeating the Rockies 2-1 in 11 innings. Their record improves to 16-29.
On The Mound
- Vince Velasquez got the start, allowing one run over five innings.

- Velasquez struck out seven.
- Edubray Ramos pitched a scoreless sixth.
- Pat Neshek worked a clean seventh.
- Joaquin Benoit got the team through the eighth.
- Hector Neris had a scoreless ninth.
- Luis Garcia got through the 10th without allowing a run.

At The Plate

- Freddy Galvis went 1-4 with a single.
Final Thoughts
A win is a win, but its hard to feel good about an offense that managed just two runs in 11 innings, and hasn’t scored more than two runs in each of the last five games.
Odubel Herrera, who struck out in all five of his at-bats, is just a disaster. The Phils need Howie Kendrick to come back to the majors in the worst way so they can get Herrera a breather to let him get away from the everyday grind and refocus himself.
