- The offense put up six runs on eight hits.
- Nick Williams went 1-3 with a two-run homer and drove in a third run later in the game.
- Howie Kendrick went 2-4 with a two-run single.
- Odubel Herrera went 1-3, driving in the team’s sixth run.
- Cesar Hernandez went 1-3 with a single and a walk.
- Freddy Galvis went 1-4 with a single.
- Maikel Franco went 0-2 with two walks.
- Tommy Joseph and Andrew Knapp both went 0-4.
Final Thoughts
Driving in another three runs today, Nick Williams continues to be the engine for the recent improved play of the offense.
The Phils have score five or more runs in six straight games, earlier in the season such a feat would have been impossible for this group.
If Williams alone can make the team that much more competitive, imagine when a couple more of their young prospects come up to join him.
