Quarterbacks (2): Carson Wentz, Nick Foles
Watching Matt McGloin in the preseason made me appreciate Mark Sanchez.
Running Backs (4): LeGarrette Blount, Darren Sproles, Wendell Smallwood, Donnel Pumphrey
If its a fair fight, Corey Clement would be on the roster over Pumphrey. My hope all along has been that the Eagles will stash Pumphrey on IR with a phantom injury to allow them to keep Clement, but I don’t know how likely that is.
If Pumphrey isn’t IRed, it just isn’t practical to keep five running backs.
Wide Receivers (6): Alshon Jeffrey, Torrey Smith, Nelson Agholor, Mack Hollins, Marcus Johnson, Bryce Treggs
There’s some thought that if the Eagles keep six receivers, Greg Ward will get the nod. I think Treggs has stood out more in the preseason, whereas Ward is someone that can get to the practice squad.
Tight Ends (3): Zach Ertz, Brent Celek, Trey Burton
No surprises here. Billy Brown to the practice squad.
Offensive Line (9): Jason Peters, Isaac Seumalo, Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks, Lane Johnson, Stefan Wisniewski, Chance Warmack, Dillon Gordon, Halapoulivaati Vaitai
The Eagles go a little thinner on the offensive line this year than they have in the past, keeping nine instead of 10 or 11.
Defensive Ends (5): Brandon Graham, Vinny Curry, Derek Barnett, Chris Long, Steven Means
Alex McAlister needs another year of development.
Defensive Tackles (5): Fletcher Cox, Timmy Jernigan, Destiny Vaeao, Beau Allen, Elijah Qualls
Beau Allen is back, but Elijah Qualls has done enough to earn himself a spot. Plus, Allen will probably need a few weeks before he can get back to full speed.
Linebackers (6): Jordan Hicks, Mychal Kendricks, Nigel Bradham, Najee Goode, Kamu Grugier-Hill, Joe Walker
Mychal Kendricks could very well be traded over the weekend. After seeing Howie Roseman deal Sam Bradford a week before the regular season last year, you can’t rule anything out.
Cornerbacks (6): Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills, Patrick Robinson, Rasul Douglas, Jaylen Watkins, Dexter McDougle
C.J. Smith is the tough cut here. Patrick Robinson mans the slot, while newcomer McDougle develops. The versatility of Jaylen Watkins gets him the nod over Smith.
Safeties (4): Malcolm Jenkins, Rodney McLeod, Corey Graham, Chris Maragos
Specialists (3): Caleb Sturgis, Donnie Jones, Rick Lovato
BGN site isn’t working dammit
It’s back up.
If we get rid of Kendricks it will be another perfect example of Philly
Shooting them selves in the foot and why we have never won a SB.
We become a worse team without his depth and services. Keep Nigel and Hicks fresh by playing that man A lot. Use him as strictly another pass rusher to go with that dline!! You can never have enough!!
Don’t be a fool
Howie!!
Trade kendricks for matt forte ! We have no rbs
Forte might get cut.
Forte is OLD not upgrade on Blount
Hell no forte is done and we are fine with Smallwood, blount, and sproles. Your hate for Blount is ridiculous
They held him out I believe he makes it
From what I have read Schwartz likes Kendricks now..plans on using him a lot more since he trusts the cb’s more…planning on using Kendricks to blitz. Unless the Eagles get a good draft pick Kendricks will be here. If he can be effective like he was this preseason he’s a keeper.
I’m praying to god we implement this man like he’s suppose to be. You never know what can happen over a 16 game season.
Cutting Cherry just increase his chances of staying
