Dear Nick Sirianni,
Eagles football is back August 12th, and there is plenty of unknown with how the Eagles will perform this upcoming season. Your philosophy and execution of the offense, defense and special teams remain a mystery to all of us. Trust in the core of veterans (Graham, Kelce, Lane, Cox, Slay and McCleod), their locker room presence and leadership ability makes your job easier.
The challenge at hand will be for you to teach the Eagles last four draft classes and 2017 1st round pick to be successful at the NFL level. They presently account for 26 spots on your roster and at key starting positions. (see below)
Since being hired as the new head coach, you have consistently mentioned ‘competition’ at every position. Your philosophy centers on rewarding hard work and execution. Well Nick, we the fan base need the Eagles as part of our identity. Return Philly style of football to a city that always shows up on game day.

that is 26 players on your list which is half a roster- probably 22 of those will be on the 53 plus a couple of UDFA’s etc so roughly half your roster is very young– I would say their weak point age wise would be ‘middle career’ players– remembering that the 16 draft was carson which is your ‘middle career year. There is no question the Jones, douglass draft time hurt them- they are going into year 5 now…. Agolar is in year 7 I believe- so there isn’t a whole lot to show- in fairness they pushed some chips to the center as they should have but they are young now–
I am not a fan of all this Watson talk right now- I am in the lets see what Hurts can do camp- I have a haunting suspicion we are going to get rid of him and he has Wilson like qualities. then you have all those first rounders next year– draft a DL stud/OL stud and a CB–
what exactly is “philly style football”? — all stupid fans call for is run run run– get trotter at MLB– neither of those “philly style’ of play is conducive to 2021 football- all coaches run the ball- doug ran it plenty when he got the lead- NS will do the exact same-
His players will listen that bogus report that some national guy put out a couple days ago is for clicks– and oh btw they are in transition if you don’t like the coach don’t you worry because we have a one way ticket out of philly for some god forsaken place like Houston or carolina… keep chirping cuz you will get cut.
Philly style football=Respect the style of football your team is playing. That feeling left the team in 2020. It has every opportunity to return, call last season a mulligan.
“Respect the style of football you are playing”… again I don’t know what those words mean. You can pretty much guess what they will be going for “innovation “ in the passing game, there are only so many route combos, physical line play with athletic guys making second level blocks, they will do the zone run game number of runs will be score dependent as is 90% of the nfl. defensively one would assume that despite Schwartz long term success we would hope for a more modern athletic defense.
As I’ve said on here 20 is a shitstorm of everything that could go wrong, did. The QB having what can only be described as a complete mental breakdown is something I can’t ever remember seeing. If they had middle of the road QB play they probably would have gotten to playoffs. In that sense I’m glad they fired Doug (I was a fan) and traded Carson (I was a fan). Siriani is a football geek which seems to be a trend … let’s hope he’s a good geek
Do Note that this Eagles Team is 22-25-1 over their last 3 Seasons since their SB Win and this is even less impressive when you take in account of how bad the NFC East has been for a few Years now and not just last Season, The Reality is that the Eagles have been slightly above Average since that Glorious Run of late 2017 and Fans, Local Media placed way too high of expectations since that Super Bowl Victory and now things have settled out , New Coaching Staff and it’s time to rebuild and turnover this Roster which is what they are doing now ..
I’m ready for some Football and some new Players,Coaches and Schemes as the Eagles became Stale and the Lack of development with their Younger Players was flat out criminal the last couple of Seasons
Paul “the last 3 seasons” as you know perfectly well is skewed … they won 56% of their games the first 2 of those 3 years and only 28% of their games in the third year…. it’s bogus accounting,. You must work for the Trump organization using selective math.
No one place too hi of expectations… that’s just goofy. Any team that won a Super Bowl has lofty expectations the following year. Hot take to 3 years later say those expectations were too hi. That’s just you being a dick.
They had little expectations during their Super Bowl Season and caught lightning in a Bottle,l with a Back-Up QB and Role Pmayers who have never come close to Pkay king like thry did during their SB Run
They were slightly above average before and after the Super Bowl when you go back to 2013 or so and that’s the facts
You still used trumpian math… their record in 20 is well documented disaster. It is t reflective of the 2 prior years. Who had little expectations in 17? You? That’s par for the course as you look at everything from a negative perspective…. 2013 that was 3 coaches ago and they went to the PLAYOFFS 4 of those years including a Super Bowl.. average? Average would be middle of the pack the only teams clearly above them in those 8 years would be NE, KC, Seattle as they are the only teams to make the playoffs more and win a SB… other teams GB, NO made the playoffs a time or two more but never won it… by my count that’s 3 teams who have had more success … what a dumb fuck u are
Looks like malaita, Hebrig, Goeddert, singleton, Tj edwards, Fulham , Driscoll , sweat all contributed and got better. As an example sweat had 6 sacks in 421 snaps. Aaron’s Donald had 13 sacks in 865. Montes sweat had 9 sacks in 700, d. Lawrence had 6.5 in 668. So obviously he had good development and production.
Filgham had a 5 week period that was kind of historical… he was pulled off the scrap heap and coached up to be. Player of the month… got banged up and fizzled as the eagles petered out.
Lack of development… you would t know development if it was at the bottom of your bourbon bottle
2015 – 7-9
2016 – 7-9
2017 – 13-3
2018 – 9-7
2019 – 9-7
2020 – 4-11-1
Toss out a Great Season in 2017 and a Poor Season in 2020 and the other 4 Seasons have shown the Eagles to be an Average Team/Roster/Talent Level/Coaching/GM Drafting and Roster Management/Organization
as I have stated..
There’s No Gold Standard or QB Factory here
with the Eagles… Just Lightning in a Bottle led by Back-Up QB N Foles and a cast of Role Players who all gelled at the right time which is very unlikely to occur anytime soon
Playoffs and SB title are the marks of success/failure . Your original post said since 13… 13 10-6, 14 10-6.
They gave not been middle of the road when you use playoffs and championship as a measuring stick…. You don’t use wins and again being a trumper you first said since 13 but since those #s don’t help your argument you fudged. Loser
If playoffs isn’t your measurement than they have the 10th most regular season wins for the decade of the 2010s. That’s top thirds do if you whine that it’s a weak division please not the giants won a SB in that decade and the cowboys had the 12th most wins that decade.
Since 200O the eagles are tied with the saints for 6th best win % at 58%. They are tied for 4th in playoff wins. Yet bozo says they are middle of the road, then again winning in season is not how Paul measures success.
Where are the Eagles since 2015 ? And that’s despite the magical, Fluke 2017 Season culminating in a SB Victory led by and Won by Nick Foles and bunch of back up,role players who never played as well again ?
Haven’t the Saints,Packers,Seahawks and even the Vikings been better since 2015 overall than the Eagles ?
Well I don’t think so. Calling a SB a fluke shows ignorance. Teams…all teams will sell their souls for a SB win. None of those teams even got to the SB let alone win it!
Saints have won 3 playoff games, Vikings 2… that doesn’t cut it! Seahawks have won 3 PO games…. packers have been good… they have the best QB in football … but would trade their playoff runs for a SB.
I get it. You need to rip the eagles, it’s what you do. I also understand Philly championships are always with an ** in your world. The packers have been great but would love an * asterisk SB championship.
I remember back to the 2013 draft when the eagles picked Lane Johnson. Many on here said “reach”, over drafted”, “Lame Johnson” etc… just saw a thing that he is the only first rounder who is still on the team that drafted him. He and Kelce have been much maligned by the Gcobb know it all’s. Both have a chance at the HOF.
I think you have noted some very interesting points, appreciate it for the post.
Very quality article from your content to your pictures, hope to share more next time, thank you and stay healthy.
The next time I learn a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my option to read, but I really thought youd have something attention-grabbing to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you would fix in the event you werent too busy searching for attention.
Precisely what I was searching for, thankyou for putting up.
Best view i have ever seen !
You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be actually something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
I love your blog.. very nice colors & theme. Did you design this website yourself or did you hire someone to do it for you? Plz reply as I’m looking to design my own blog and would like to know where u got this from. thank you
