Eagles Target Ravens Guard Brown

As of noon on Thursday February 26th, the Baltimore Ravens have cut off talks with guard/center Jason Brown.

Free agent Ravens center/guard Jason Brown is a guy I believe the Eagles have targeted and will pursue.

He’s versatile with the ability to play both the center and guard position, which would make the Birds deeper on the offensive line.

He would step in right away at the starting left guard position and that would allow the Eagles to move Todd Herremans outside to the left tackle spot in place of Tra Thomas.

Brown would also be available to step in at center if something were to happen to current starting center Jamaal Jackson.  In addition there has been noise that the Eagles might want to upgrade at center because Jackson’s play has leveled off of late.

Expect the Birds to make things competitive along the offensive line by giving Max Jean-Gilles a chance to start if he does a better job at guard than Jackson does at center.

Brown will start at either guard or center depending on which one of the offensive lineman plays better.

This guy has hit the market at the right time.  He's going to be pursued by the Eagles, Dolphins, Jaguars and maybe the Redskins.

He won't be complaining about being overpaid .  Brown is number 60.
