I'm guessing to say that the Brian Dawkins deal is still not done as of yet. I've never seen a situation where you've got Philly.com writing two contrary stories about whether he signed or not.
Dawkins wants a two-year deal but the Eagles are only willing to give him one. The Broncos on the other hand are willing to give him two-years.
If the Birds don't change their minds, then Dawkins could very well sign a contract with Denver in the near future, but as of right now, he hasn't signed the contract.
This is the way they had it on Philly.com.
"Let's start with Brian Dawkins. We played it safe here at MTC, waiting to hear confirmation on the deal in Denver before going ballistic. And that has not happened yet. David White of the San Francisco Chronicle, who first reported that Dawkins and the Broncos had agreed to a deal, just e-mailed me. He has recently heard from Dawkins' agent, and the two sides are still in negotiations. In other words, Dawkins has not yet signed. It's not a done deal."
That sounds conclusive right?
Still remember Pro FootballTalk.com says that he has signed the contract; This is what they said on SportingNews.com.
UPDATE: After some conflicting reports on whether Dawkins had done a deal with Denver, we're told that he finally has signed a contract to join the Broncos.
Philly.com's Les Bowen seems to believe ProFootballTalk.com. Look at what he writes today.
"Several hours after a San Francisco Chronicle report about Brian Dawkins' agreeing to a contract with the Denver Broncos rocked Eagles Nation yesterday afternoon, agent Jim Steiner, asked to clarify, texted the Daily News that he was "in negotiations," which is not usually what agents say when they have reached an agreement.
Then late last night, profootballtalk.com reported Dawkins indeed had agreed to terms with Denver"
