Sal Pal of ESPN says the Eagles are set on drafting Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno with their first pick. If they can't get him Sal says the Birds will trade down and get a back later in the draft.
He also added that the Birds would be willing to make a deal to move up in the first round in order to get Moreno.
I think that's good news if it pans out. Moreno is the surest pick out of the running backs in this draft. He's going to be at least a good football player because he's fundamentally sound and tough.
Moreno has shown he can catch the football out of the backfield, pick up the blitz and run in between the tackles. He's also not a fumbler. Some of the other backs could pan out but Moreno is the safest.
It make sense for the Birds to make him their guy because they can't afford to be wrong again. They missed on Ryan Moats, Tony Hunt, and probably Lorenzo Booker.
