Now we not only know that Kevin Kolb will start, but we also know that Michael Vick probably won’t play at all. He’s listed as the team’s 3rd quarterback today. Kolb and backup Mike Kafka would have to get injured for Vick to play.
It’s the right move by Andy Reid. They can’t put Vick out there until they’re sure he’s healthy. He will probably play next week, but that’s not a definite. I am sure Vick will be the team’s starting quarterback after the bye.
I know the Falcons look like they’re unbeatable but don’t get to swept in their quality. The Saints had to miss a 25-yard field goal for Atlanta to beat them. They had to recover a fumble on an interception return and to beat the Niners. They struggled to beat the Browns last week.
Atlanta might be as good as we thought they were.

I wouldn’t be shocked if the Eagles found a way to win this game because I don’t think the Falcons are as good as everybody has said they are. Still, I’ve got to pick the Falcons in this one. I’ve got the Falcons 27-17.

Vick will be kept out until after the BYE week, to give him another 2-3 weeks of rest and recovery.. With the RB, it’s difficult to not only lift and move your arms, but to throw with any zip and accuracy.. He will have to heal before coming back to play

I hope Ellis Hobbs doesn’t have a serious injury because the Falcons have good wide outs. Rookie Nate Allen took a bad angle on that long pass play.
Good pass blocking on that first play by the Birds. Asante Samuel reads those short passes better than anybody.
Do you see what a difference Asante Samuel makes in the Eagles secondary? There’s no way the NIners would have completed as many passes on that side with Samuel in there last week.

Kolb got the ball to DeSean Jackson on that one.
You see the Eagles put Jackson in the slot against a double zone type of coverage. He’s basically playing the tight end position when they do that. if they don’t jam him, he will kill you.
Good throw by Kolb. They’re doing the job on Abraham as well.
Ryan Howard is going to get criticized for being at the Eagles game if he doesn’t have a big game tonight.

If Howard wanted to go to the game, he could have gone up into one of the boxes, but he shouldn’t be on the air. That’s all you’re going to hear about is him being at the Eagles game.

This is 4 scoring drives he has helped end in the last 2 games with drop passes..
Defense is flyign to the ball and gettign off blcoks really well.. They are playing some INspired D right now.. Eagles need to get a good calm drive going right here and make the Falcons 1 dimensional the rest of the game if they can go in and get 7 pts right here.. I would keep running that right side and take a couple of shots down the field after a few runs.. Flacons haven’t stoped run yet..

Kolb had receiver out on lower flat insitally, then took a step to avoid the rush and then threw a floater across th middle and D-Jax paid the price.. It appears Kolb is starting to get “happy Feet” as this game goes on.. Hr needs to step up in the pocket and throw and not step to the side where you get your body turned and then it’s difficult to get back into a good throwing motion ..

That is exactly why I didn’t want to see desean catching too many short passes. But that was Kolb’s fault for lobbing it out there like that. He’ll learn than he can’t do that because you’ll either get your receiver killed on it’s an INT.
I call for a 70 Man roster after this season. Geez

Bad deal as the end of 1s thalf with that tipped/deflected ball for Falcons INT.. An Eagles TD there and the game is probably over.. Eagles get ball at the start of 2nd half and need a good drive to get momentum back and put some points back onto the board
On the Falcons TD pass, very poor coverage on TE Gonzo by Hobbs, you cannot let a bigger man
who is a TE have inside position like that.. Poor technique, take awy the inside and make him go outsise of you to have to make a leaping catch which is a lot more difficult than the pitch and catch play.. The Eagles got a sloppy with some penalties late in th 2nd Quarter and need to tighten that up.. HAnson has gotten burned on almost every pass throw his way and looks a step behind plus has his back to the play which is a no-no when covering WR, you have to see the ball and then if caught out of position, you still have a chance to deflect,poke the ball or something…
The INterference call was a bad call though for that ball wasn;t catchable and also on the play or 2 before when DOuglass caught the ball by the sindeline and went down, he never had clean possesion of the catch and AR should have challenged that catch.. You get 1 per half and no sense in taking it to the locker room with you….
