No fine for Coleman

Finally, there is some justice in all of this. The flag that was thrown on Kurt Coleman for the helmet-to-helmet hit on Austin Collie Sunday was extremely costly. It could have meant the game for the Eagles.

Based on how long Collie was down and how vicious the hit seemed (Mikell threw the one that sent him to the ground), it looked like a sure $50k was coming out of Coleman’s pocket. And when you are a seventh-round pick, you better believe that’s a whopping chunk of change.

However, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network, Coleman will not be fined.

“Because Collie’s helmet-to-helmet contact was a result of being driven toward a defender from a prior hit, there’s no fine for this action,” he tweets.

Good to see the NFL taking a rational approach to this. There was absolutely no intent or negligence on Coleman’s part; he was just playing football.

Now – go back and correctly rule this was a fumble and let Mikell continue to run with it. Take 7 points off the board from the colts. If this picture doesn’t show the rcvr has the ball in his possesion, is cradling it with two arms and has lowered his head to protect himself………..

Hey jroc, as always brother LONG LIVE THE EAGLES. Anyway you are right the refs were faster on the draw than Will Rogers and Black Bart. They will not apologize for any of those calls of course, but i understand your sentiment.

Oh and you are right it is “Us” we are the Eagles fans which make us a big part of the equation. So you keep on say us and we. I don’t blame the refs to much (Uh? okay just kidding yeah I do), the league needs to come out right now with some clear hard visual rules andcues that will envoke clarity into the new rules on these types of hitting so that everyone including us fans can be on the same page.

We can’t have the refs roving around with their own preconceived notions of what is what. did you see them on numerous occassions during the game, looking at each other nodding or shaking their heads. They were on those hit calls backing each other up. I bet in the ref’s locker room the conversation when like this: “Hey mike what the hell was that sissy helmet wipe call on trent Cole? Man I had to backyou up but what the hell.” “Hey Roy don’t give me no gump, are you blind. din’t you see that one fella push the other fella into the reciever while he was running after the catch…jeez. “

Well let’s look on the bright side here. It was a win win for everyone.

Roger Goodell enforcing the rules against flagrant hits protecting the NFL from future litigation.

The Refs keep their jobs by calling what their boss tells them to call.

Vegas on the wrong side of an undefeated coach (Reid) after the bye, the bookies couldn’t chance an Eagles win unless it was within the 3 point spread.

The Eagles still won the game that would have been a cake walk if not for those variables mentioned.

This leaves us with questions about a Colts team that can’t win against a good team even when the Referees keeps Manning’s drives alive.

Another thing….The league didn’t fine Coleman on the Collie Hit..Whoopty F’ing Doo

Will they also take back the points the Colts scored after the Collie fumble? No

Damn, I knew referees were hired in leagues to keep the fixes for certain games but could they be a little inconspicuous going forward?

Coleman may be more valuable at safety than Nate Allen. He put fear in TE Tammie and made him short arm a perfect pass from Manning.

Obviously Nate Allen is good, so this shows what a great 1st draft that the new young GM had.

They should market a “Young Guns” poster that mirrors the emilio estivez movie only with eagles gear. Put McCoy DJax H Roseman Maclin Mcdermott.

Start eating healthy Eagles fans. With a great GM we may finally be looking at our time. A Patriots, 49ers, Cowboys type run. Young Def Cor. Young team, young GM. You’ve waited too long to miss any of it.

They should start fining the refs $50K for every F’d up call they make.
I bet they’d start getting them right in a hurry.

Colemen reminds me of J.R. Reid!! He was pretty good when he was playing with the Birdz some time ago. He’s a hitter and he did that in Ohio State…. I like Nate Allen he’s more of a finesse Safety/Playmaker can kill you with a T.O. If Colemen gets the nod this week i’m all for it! go Birdz

I think COleman is a good player with a lot of upside and acutally see him paired with N Allend over the next 6-8 years once Mickell’s playing days are over..
Nate Allen will definitely not play this week, and who knows how severe it is.. any injury to the neck/back /head area is serious, I would not be surprised if he’s out for a few weeks and possible even the season, I also think E Hobbs may be placed on IR after see a back specialist to find out what’s wronf his his hip, abdominal area and wonder if it’s conncected to his back surgery he had last off-season .. Watch over the next 2 Days to see if the Eagles pick-up another Safety/CB, my hunch is that they will

Maybe Al Harris? That will be a great pick up!!!!! Who cares if Hobbs is out!!! Al Harris plays with heart…. Nobody can deny that….. Why not take a shot at him, we gave Trotter a shot LOL!

I think they are checking into Al Harris who is 36 years old and coming off a major Knee injury/surgery from late last season. No one has stated what kind of physical shape he is in and most likely,
if the Packers don’t think he can play this season and still contribute, than he is most likely done..
The Patriots released CB Terrence Wheatly last week when they brought back OL Mankins..
I think Wheatly is still out there looking for a job.. a 3 year Vet who is in that classic Patriots mold of small, but fast and a decent tackler.. He is probably worth bringing in to look at ..
