Eagles Shock The Giants With 4th Quarter Comeback

This was the most amazing comeback I have ever for Andy Reid-led Philadelphia Eagles football teams.   They were down by 21 points with only 7 minutes left on the clock, when they played some thrilling football.

The first touchdown was a well-designed play with wide receiver Jeremy Maclin sneaking across the field on a short route.  He was wide open and Vick hit him with the pass.  It was the first touchdown of the game for the Birds.  They had taken advantage of a fumble by Giants wide receiver Mario Manningham.

The second touchdown was a throw down the middle to tight end Brent Celek.  He beat Giants Pro Bowl defensive end Justin Tuck and then eluded a tackle by New York safety Kenny Phillips.  Vick put it out there and Celek made the catch.

This was the play that ignited the comeback.  There were about seven minutes to go in the game and it got the Birds within two touchdowns of the Giants.  The touchdown made the score, 31-17.

On the kickoff, the Eagles caught the Giants sleeping.  Kicker David Akers made an onside kick and it went short and high into the air.   A number of the Birds screened off the New York blockers, who were trying to recover and put themselves in position to get the ball.

Back up rookie wide receiver Riley Cooper went up and recovered the ball.  Vick went into action as he used his legs for the most part to bring them back.  He took the next score in from 4 yards out to make the score 31-24.

The defense went in there and stopped the Giants on downs to force them to punt.

The New York was doing a good job of putting pressure on Vick, so he decided to use their aggressiveness against them.  He took it into his own hands on the last drive by pulling the ball down and taking off.

On the tying score, Vick spotted Maclin and got the ball to him.  The young wide receiver made a tackler miss and scored.

Next up, the defense did their job again as they forced the Giants to punt.

There were only 14 seconds left on the clock.  Andy Reid sent DeSean Jackson out there and he did his magic.

I didn’t think they were going to punt to Jackson and he made them pay.

This game will destroy the Giants…….the Eagles are a TEAM….they pick up for each other and they can never be considered out of ANY game….I will use my old line, “Coughlin looked like Dizzy at a Kevin Kolb fan club meeting”…the guy was over the top mad at his punter and could not believe that his defense was unable to stop Vick from running….that Avant block on the punt will go down with the Keith Byers / Pepper Johnson block…….it is going to be a GREAT day at work tomorrow….I went from calling for Reid’s head after he wouldn’t throw the red flag, but at this point I am looking to send him a six-pack of cheeseburgers…..THIS IS WHY WE ARE FANS!!!!!!!!

I dang near passed out. But I never gave up I kept saying “The Eagles are going to win, they are going to win.” I know i was not the only one saying that because look what happen.

You are the Eagle Nation never give up never say die, and pump up that freaking good Karma until the cops haul you off for excessive insanity and 1st dergee believing.

I know that there will be alot to say that went wrong, but I don’t give a damn and I am going to skip those posts all together, the Eagles earned the right to have this fan not read any bad play information or stats this week, sorry fellas I know we keep it real but I just am not going to do it. there was a lot wrong but I am not doing it this week, no sir, no ma’am.

If this game don’t make you proud you are either….. uh you know what I am going to say so Get ‘em.
Fellas i even got on my knees and prayed for eagle mercy. I love it no one on the side line looked sad they looked mad. I like the way the players kept Patterson in the game by encouraging him.

This is a freakin team we got here boys and it is hard to beat a damn team.

Thats all for me I got to keep it together before my neighbors call the cops, so I am out for now.

As always LONG LIVE THE EAGLES, and HAIL TO THE INCREDIABLE EAGLE NATION

Just back from the game. Stadium is ok, not as nice as the Linc. Ate bullspit from stupid Giants fans for 3.5 quarters and got to see the hole open for Djax perfectly from our seats, saw the crease open and could see the path to the end zone. Best day since the 2004 NFC Championship. Stunning display, too many amazing things to comment on today. Not going to try.

I know you’re exhausted. I’m tired from watching it on TV. I look forward to hearing more of your experience.

Wow! Every week this team comes up with the most amazing plays to win games that I have ever seen in my career as a Philadelphia Eagles fan (since the Randall Cunningham days that is).

Been following the Eagles since 48 and this is the most unbelievable game yet

I knew the Eagles coulkd strop the Giants running game but I didn’t think Manning could have the kind of day he did

Vick had more yards rushing than the entire Giant team but I guess when their passing game was clicking they stayed with it

I thought for sure after that rotten offensive first half the Eagles D would really be worn down and by the 4th and the Giants would just jam the bar

The D really strapped in on the second half and 4th quarter –congrats for not packing it in

Worries – Yeah that the Giants could go one and one on the Eagles receivers for so long

Did Vick pull it out –Hell yeah but damn you can’t have to rely on your QB running 130 yards

Considering the game against the Cowboys last week and the walkover the Giants had I guess some letdown could have been expecte but I nevr thought I would see the utter dominatrion for the 2 and 1/2 quarters

I taped the game as I was watching and was tempted to shut er down but then I remembered the other miracles against the Giants and let er run

I’ll have something to watch over and over

Just wish somebody besides Jackson could do something on punts and kickoffs

Seems the Eagles never get decent kickoff field position –has to improve for the playoffs

Another damn injury too a starter

Totally shocking day, Giants fans are kind of candyasses. They will talk smack behind me, but if I turned around to eyeball them, they act all interested in the game, no eye contact. Had a snot nosed kid screaming DeSean sucks and “back to the doghouse” at Vick the whole game. Not too original. The parking situation is a nightmare, but I may be spoiled by years of easy in and easy out South Philly. The stadium feels more like the Vet than a really new bells and whistles model, all gray concrete, very vertical. There were a fair number of Birds fans, not as many as Jacksonville this year, or at FedEx, but you could not miss them. I will be totally honest, I did not say much after the punt return, kind of stood there with my mouth open staring at my fiancee. Did not think it was possible, the Giants played well enough to win, but the Eagles just didn’t panic or quit, even when I was crapping myself in the stands. I never thought they would punt to Djax, said so before the play “they’ll never kick it to him”. Shows what I know. Was pretty happy to get in the truck and get on the turnpike southbound, it was getting a tad sporty in the parking lot, whole bunches of drunk angry Giants fans, and even the Spider cannot fight off a horde of them. I am still shocked, almost like it didn’t happen, but next Sunday night is going to be like 2004redux in South Philly at the Linc, I just cannot wait. This bunch of guys amaze me, I truly do not know what the ceiling is for them, and I never expected it.

The most amazing effort by a team, individuals in eagles hist., I will never forget the look of 7 his eyes, first mad, then acceptance then conviction, and djax like babe Ruth against the cubs in ws, called his shot bf the punt, looked his team in the eye and delivered, unbelievable, the most fantastic win ever by a team, individuals, screw ny and manning, we have something special here

The best comeback win in my almost 40 years of following the Eagles,
I have drank the Kool-Aid from the “Vick Chalice” , This was MVP Perfomance and puts him in the lead for the leauge MVP. Vick denies to lose and will do everything in his powers to will his team to win..There were so many big plays, story lines, but this is time to enjoy the moment and save the analysis for tommorrow
