Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports says associates of Vick say he didn't realize how serious this case was until Monday when the Commissioner asked him to not come to training camp.
"I wouldn't say he's delusional about the problem, but I don't think he sees it as being as big a deal as everybody else," the associate said. "He thinks it's going to blow over eventually … He doesn't know how deep this goes."
The Vick associate is hoping that newly hired lawyer Billy Martin can get through to Michael that he should put playing on a hold and focus on this case. So far the Falcons quarterback has been unwilling to take a leave of absence from the football team. As time goes on and Martin has a chance to communicate with Michael, he may decide that taking a leave of absence is a good idea.
