Michael Vick has signed his first national endorsement deal since going to jail with Unequal Technologies, which is a company that makes football pads that supposedly “reduce harmful impact shock”. They made a chest protector which Vick wore to protect his ribs when he returned to the starting lineup.
This is his first endorsement deal since spending a couple years in the penitentiary because the agreement he had with Woodbury Nissan was a trade. Vick did the commercial and for it he was able to drive.
He has signed a two-year deal with Unequal Technologies, according to the Associated Press.
“We’re real excited about it,” chief executive officer Rob Vito said earlier this week. “Michael is good people. He paid his dues. President Obama reached out to him. He deserves an opportunity. This is what makes America so great. He’s moved forward. He’s a whole other person.”
The details of the deal are still unknown, but Vito and his company believe they’ve made a great move in hooking up with Vick.
“We believe it was worth it,” he said, “because of Michael Vick and how he can shed light on the technology of our products.”
The Associated Press article included a statement from Vick.
“The Unequal technology is a part of my game now and I won’t play without my Unequal,” Vick said in the statement. “Unequal’s protective power gives me a whole new level of confidence in my game. It makes me feel invincible.”
Regardless of how good this companies pads are, Vick is going to miss games if he continues taking the hits he did this season. He needs to stop feeling invincible.
Maybe this pads are the problem. LOL
Being the first company to sign him gives them heads up on the advertisement game already. This has made national news. A win win for the company and Vick.
Happy to hear about for Vick, he deserves all the accolades and business opportunities that come his way.. If the Eagles don’t upgrade this O/Line significantly this off-season, QB Vick will be endorsing
X-ray Machines, MIR Machines, CAT Scans and Surgical & Medical Equipment next…
good for him.
now get him wrs that want to run routes and a couple more lineman to protect him.
then let him lead us to a ring.
It’s a wonder Michael was able to finish out the games after some of the vicious hits he took. I need to get me some of these pads just for GQ.
Wonder if they make softball style sliding shorts he can endorse too?
