You've got to give Donovan McNabb credit for moving the offense without a healthy Brian Westbrook.
We've got to get BWest healthy for the Arizona game because you know how these guys can score.
McNabb played great when you consider the absence of a running game, tremendous pass rush pressure in his face and small windows to throw into. I see a tough-mindedness in him and this football team.
Westbrook had only 36 yards on the ground but McNabb kept the sticks moving with his arm. In that third quarter he gave the defense a rest.
Tough-mindedness allows you to play through a big drop by Kevin Curtis that might have been a touchdown. Tough-mindedness allows you to keep battling despite Brent Celek dropping a couple of passes.
That benching was like a slap in the face to McNabb and the rest of the team. It was also a slap in the face for Reid who knew he was stinking up the joint like everybody else.
This thing has become personal with McNabb and the rest of this football team.
Personally I don't care if McNabb is happy or not because his anger at people constantly criticizing him has rubbed off on everybody wearing the midnight green.
Most of the guys who play in the NFL have been treated that way at one point or another in their careers. You either sit down and feel sorry for yourself or come out fighting.
Like him or not, Donovan McNabb is a fighter.
You don't see guys talking a lot of trash during the week but they show up ready to fight and scrap each week.
They feel like nobody thinks they're going to win anything so they focus then go out and prove it. if you win then, critics can't say anything.
Winning solves everything.
I don't want to see them celebrate too much because the job is far from finished. The Cardinals were playing like crap, then their head coach put them through some two a days at the end of the year and it changed their mindsets.
They've got to keep the same mindset. I know a lot of people are going to pick them to beat the Cardinals but they can't get caught up in that.
Their defense attacks like our defense attacks so it's going to be a serious battle.
I want Quintin Mikell and Westbrook to head straight to the training room and get treatment in order to get healthy by Sunday. They need those guys in the next game.
L.J. Smith got in there and made a couple of tough catches. It seems that with all this team has been through, they have developed a tough mindedness that being transfered from player to player.
