How Will McNabb Take This Draft?

Philly.com's Rich Hoffman asks a very good question.  Is McNabb happy?

That's a good question but I think that question should also be extended to the other All-Pro's on the football team who are getting near the end of their career.

Brian Westbrook doesn't have that many years left to take a pounding trying to carry this offense. This might be Brian Dawkins last year, I doubt that he's feeling good about that first round pick next year.  Veteran offensive tackles Jon Runyan and William Thomas can't feel good about the Birds putting off the first rounder to next year.

If I were McNabb, Westbrook, Runyan, Thomas or Dawkins,  I wouldn't be happy knowing they were stacking up draft picks for next year so that maybe they will help Kevin Kolb during years in the future.

They did get DeSean Jackson but they trade down twice before pulling the trigger on him.  How much is a kid who is 5'9" 169 pounds going to be able to help you as a wide receiver?

Jackson and Lorenzo Booker is all the Eagles have to show that can seriously help McNabb and that offense this year.  I'm not buying it and I don't think any of these veteran Birds players are buying it.

Despite it, they 've got to get the job done.
