You could tell that Andy Reid has been in Donovan McNabb's ear.
The article on Philly.com about what McNabb had to say in Syracuse yesterday said a lot more than he said. He took the heat off of Reid and the Eagles front office with the following comments.
"It's a growing process. We haven't brought in a receiver or anything on offense, but on defense, we've definitely filled some holes and added some more playmakers."
Donovan had said previously that the Birds needed to add some playmakers in order to go after a championship. He didn't specify whether they needed them on offense or defense but everybody he was talking about the receiver position.

He said he hopes they'll continue to go after players who can help them improve. "We'll continue to do that in the draft and make sure when the time comes, the veterans will be ready to lead by example and those guys will follow,"
I wonder how many times Reid and McNabb have talked in the last couple of weeks. Andy even made it a point to make it public knowledge that he and McNabb talk a lot. What Donovan said yesterday is exactly what Reid would want him to say.
I think Andy has told Donovan that he's going to do everything he can to get him some help. I think the Birds will try to do something before the draft in a trade to get a big time receiver.
If that doesn't work then the Eagles are sure to draft a wide receiver in the second, third or fourth round of the draft.
