Andy Reid needs to tell Donovan McNabb to follow his lead and stay away from any rehashing of the Terrell Owens saga of 2005.
Reid was asked whether he could have done something differently to change the outcome and he responded, "I'm not going to get into all that. He's doing great right now. He's happy and playing good football, and that's all right."
McNabb needs to respond this way when he's asked questions about Owens. Rehashing what has happened in the past doesn't do anything other than start more controversy.
The Birds quarterback did make a comment about Owens but it didn't have anything to do with any controversy. McNabb talked about the "Hardknocks" series which is on HBO, by saying "I've been watching 'Hard Knocks' – who hasn't been? They're a confident bunch. They're an experienced bunch. There's a reason why they won 13 games last year."
This is harmless. Anything else said about Owens should focus on now. Going back there in the past is a trap that McNabb needs to stay away from.
The Eagles should focus on playing football and let the Cowboys do the talking.
