Chad Durbin Signs A One-Year Deal With Indians

Former Phillies reliever Chad Durbin has agreed to a one-year deal with the Cleveland Indians. Eight-hundred thousand dollars of the contract are guaranteed and he’s got the chance to one-million dollars more in incentives.

If he hadn’t received a major league offer he might have returned to the Eagles as a non-roster invitee. He’s got some job security with the Indians.

I thought he pitched well for the Indians during his time here. In the three seasons he was with the Phillies he pitched over 226 innings with a 3.62 ERA.

An innings churner who works best in the 6th/7th Inning,
Hopefully with the Starting Rotation now of the Phils, this is an area where
they really don’t have a need for middle relief and Durbin would probably get stale sitting around and not pitching that often to be effective..
He will be get a lot of work at Cleveland.. Best Wishes to Clyde..
