The Eagles just officially announced that they have signed quarterback Michael Vick to a one-year contract. The runner-up to this year’s NFL, Vick was designated as the team’s franchise player on February 15 and today as expected he signed the tender.
This was a move the Eagles had to make because they want to negotiate a long-term deal with Vick, but they don’t know what lies ahead for the league with the CBA expiring on Friday. What will the salary cap limitations be for NFL teams?
Vick enjoyed his finest season as an NFL quarterback in 2010 with career highs in quarterback rating (100.2), completion percentage (62.6), and passing yards (3,018) while becoming just the 2nd player in league history to throw for 3,000+ yards, rush for 500+ yards and accrue a 100+ QB rating in one season, joining Steve Young (1992).
Any time you accomplishing feats which were only done by Hall of Famers, that’s nothing to take lightly.
Vick also earned a starting spot on the NFC Pro Bowl squad while garnering NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors.
Congrats to Vick, the Eagles and the fans.. He had a great season last year and gives this Franchise it’s best chance to get and win a Super Bowl..
Now upgrade the right side of the O/L, get a Bigger more Physical WR, Run the Ball more and this Offense would be almost unstoppable.. now the Defense does need some work, but the Eagles O with these enhancements
should be rolling strong for a while..
Get 2 Cb’s, 1 lb, 1 Rg and call it an off season.
Dont forget long term deals to Djack and Vick and trade baby arm.
Paulman’s wish list
Get 1 CB, 1 Safety, 1 OLB , 1 RG , 1 DE , 1 WR , 1 Kicker
Thanks for reminding us about this. That truly is an amazing accomplishment. Hopefully they do feed the ball to McCoy this year.
