Anthony Gargano of 610 WIP just reported some news out of Toronto that the Blue Jays will not even field offers for Roy Halladay until July 31st.
That should quiet things down around here for a bit (ok, probably not).
You know they are going to shred the Phillies for everything they can. How much would you be willing to give up? Baseball America has a list of the top 25 prospects in all of baseball and the Phillies have three guys on the list: Dom Brown, Kyle Drabek and Michael Taylor.
I heard a report recently that the Blue Jays will want at least two major-league ready prospects in return for the stud pitcher. I'm sure JA Happ would count as one of those. I for one do not want to lose Happ. I like the idea of Halladay, Hamels, Happ and Blanton. That's a World Series rotation right there.
Overall, I could do three prospects, but not all three top-25 guys. I definitely wouldn't give up four prospects unless the last guy is just a throw-in nobody and not really a good prospect. So tell me, how far would you be willing to go to get Halladay? Happ? Drabek?
